Memory is an important component of the computer that stores data and

information temporarily or permanently. Memory can be divided into two broad

categories:

Primary Memory
Secondary Memory
Primary Memory
Primary memory is a form of computer memory that the Preprocessor can access
directly. It is primarily used to store data on the computer that is currently
operating. It has less storage than secondary memory. It consists of two types:

Random-Access Memory (RAM)

Read-only Memory (ROM)
Secondary Memory
Secondary memory is a sort of computer memory that permanently stores data
and information. It has more data storing capacity than primary memory.
Secondary Memory is not immediately accessible from the CPU.
