Library Management System

Problem Statement:
The Library Management System is a comprehensive software solution designed to
streamline and automate the operations of a library. The system aims to enhance efficiency,
accuracy, and accessibility in managing library resources in order to digitize the
cumbersome and inefficient offline way.

Main Characteristics:
1. User Authentication and Access Control:
The system will implement secure user authentication mechanisms to ensure authorized
access. Role-based access control will be employed, distinguishing between librarians,
administrators, and students.
2. Resource Management:
Efficient record of library resources, including books, journals, multimedia, and other
materials. Each resource will have detailed information such as title, author, category and
availability status.
3. Check-in/Check-out System:
Automated borrowing and return processes for students. Real-time updates on the
availability and due dates of borrowed items. Late notifications and fines calculation to
encourage timely returns.
4. Search and Discovery:
Advanced search functionalities for students to locate resources based on various criteria.
5. User-Friendly Interface:
easy-to-use interfaces for both librarians and students.
6. Notifications and Alerts:
Automated notifications for students regarding due dates, overdue items, and reservation
statuses.
