My Conversion Testimony

Life experiences have a way of shaping who we are, what we can become
and how we affect others.

As a child, I grew up Seventh-day Adventist (SDA). Much of my spiritual

direction came through my grandparents, who took care of me while both my
parents are still studying. I grew up in a loving family, raised by parents and
grandparents who modeled Christ’s love daily, taught me to love Jesus and to
value my relationship with him, all while surrounded by a supportive church
community. My experience as a Seventh-day Adventist has been great and was
a major part in my faith formation and spiritual growth.

At home together with my grandparents every meal, there was prayer.

Before we drove anywhere, there was prayer. Before bed, there was prayer.
Morning and evening, we would have Bible-based devotions. We would start
observing the Sabbath at sunset on Friday and it would last until Saturday at
sunset.

I attend church together with my family. I see in them the devotion of

serving God and trusting in Him. I love going to church with them and joining my
friends in the children’s division singing and reciting my memory verses.

My conversion story is very simple. Unlike other conversion stories I’ve

heard, mine did not involve missionary visits or dreams or visions. I accepted
Jesus as my personal Savior and decided to be baptized when I was 11 years
old with my grandparents as my guide in studying Bible Lessons. There’s
nothing dramatic about my story, but it’s as life changing as everyone else’s. It
has strengthened me during challenging times and has brought comfort when
everything in life looked bleak. The power of one’s conversion is not measured
on how it happened, but on how it has changed one’s life.

I will continue make a path that brings me closer to Him. I will always be
indebted to my devout SDA grandparents and parents both of whom God used
to pour out upon me abundant grace and mercy along the way.
