Purpose

GE Healthcare has recently become aware that the Power Board in


Giraffe and Panda Warmer is requiring early/unscheduled replacement
of Fuses (F7 & F8) in some machines.

This document provides all instructions needed to complete FMI 32058

Scope

This instruction and parts referenced are applicable only to unit’s that
are part of this FMI.

FMI KIT Procedure

SENSITIVE TO ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE CAUTION


An Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Susceptibility symbol is
displayed to alert service personnel that the part(s) are
sensitive to electrostatic discharge and that static control
procedures must be used to prevent damage to the
equipment.

1. Unplug unit from the wall before working on any part of the
unit.

Power Board Removal (Figure 1)

2. For wall mount models, remove the heater head from the wall
bracket.
3. Loosen the 2 captive screws at the top of the enclosure’s rear
panel, then tilt the panel down and lift the 2 tabs at the bottom
of the panel up out of the slots that they seat in.
4. Use a 5.5mm socket to remove 2 KEP nuts that secure the
observation light transformer and remove the transformer and
disconnect electrical connector
5. Disconnect the ribbon cable and the board’s 8 electrical
connectors.
6. Loosen the 2 captive screws that secure the power board, and
remove the board.

Fuse Removal/Installation Removal (Figure 2)

7. Using needle nose pliers remove fuse F7 and F8.


(See Figure 2 for fuse location)

NOTE : There are 4 Fuses (2 Sets of 2 each) are given in the FMI Kit .Use
only 2 Fuses . Additional 2 Fuses are given Just in case the Fuses are lost
during unpacking or Fixing at the sites. Since the Fuses are very small
and delicate to handle during replacements.

8. Once the fuses on the power board are replaced, re-install the
electronics into the enclosure in reverse order.
