KNOWLEDGE OF ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY FOR
THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH FIELD
 Anatomy and physiology are two of the most basic terms and areas of study in the life
sciences. Anatomy focuses on the description of form, or how body structures at different
levels look and relationship. Gross anatomy studies macroscopic structures for example bone,
organ, blood and other. Histology studies microscopic structures for example, tissues, cells,
and organelles. Howover, physiology is the study of the function of body parts and the body
as a whole and physiology focuses on function, or how structures at different levels work.

Firstly, Anatomy and physiology are intimately related. For example a hand is able to
grab things because the length, shape, and mobility of the fingers determine what things a
hand can grab . A muscle contracts and brings bones together due to the arrangement of
muscles and bones, and the arrangement of organelles inside of muscle cells determines how
much and for how long a muscle can contract. Body structure functions depend on their form.
The way structures work depend on the way they are organized. So understanding Physiology
requires an understanding of Anatomy, and vice versa.

Secondly, Anatomy and physiology can related in occupational safety and health. For
example, strange body posture while doing working, do repetitive work, manual handling is
example for ergonomic hazard. If this is not addressed it can have long term effects. Such as
capple tunnel symdrom, slipped dics, spine fracture and more other effects. Ergonomic
hazard always be a tranding of less awareness to workers because they do not get enought
knowledge on it such as training ergonomic, do not have any prosedure/sop/work indtruction
display on anyboard from pic and so on.

Lastly, anatomy and physiology now a day become more efficient to generate
medicine that can use for any treatment to help in assessing, evaluating, diagnosing, and
tracking a patients health. When anatomy and physiology lead the rescue so it can reduce the
number of sick and ill days that your staff take and make your company archive higher
performace year by year without any accident or heavy sick. Its also help to build harmony
enviroment work place
