7. TIPS ON CRACKING NEW PATTERN
• This year the biology objective section has various types of conceptual
questions from Assertion Reason to VSA to Case Based MCQS. Preparing notes
help in the process of the remembering the terms and last-minute preparation
strategies.
• Biology is heavy on theory so to facilitate what consistent interest; I would
suggest draw neat diagrams when possible as they can help you perceive the
information easily. Base the preparation structure around them. Moreover,
representing a specific information in the form of a well labelled and neat
diagram can get you more marks instead of writing the big paragraphs.
• Trick to crack case-based questions. CBSE cannot ask any MCQ in case-based
questions that is going to take you more than 1-2 minutes to solve as it will be
a one-minute MCQ each so don’t worry about the length of the question, treat
it like a normal value input or understanding or remembering based question
and move ahead. Time is of the essence.
• Prioritise your sections order. Decide which section you would want to attend
to first and which section at last. Always attempt the easy questions first. This
way your confidence will grow and you will be mentally ready to take on the
more challenging questions.
• Write most of the counsellors in bullet points (with headings) or in a tabular
form wherever possible to save time and stick to the point. CBSE paper
checkers prefer such format to make it easy to allot full marks.
• Underlying key (value) points for all answers and follow word count to save on
time.
• Explain lengthy answers with examples and diagrams.
• Recheck for all logics and calculations in case of numerical.
• Attempt one-mark questions first then 2 marks questions of question paper
sequence.
• Attempt 5 marks questions and 3 marks questions in the end.
• Don’t overwrite, cut the answer and write a fresh clearly.
• Manage your time well in advance. If short of time, be shot an attempt all such
questions quickly having very short value points.
• All questions must be attempted --easy or difficult.
• Be brief in answering your questions. Revise if finished earlier.
• Diagrams and figures are always preferred by biology examiners so use them
frequently. Use more labelled diagrams and try to draw scientifically.
• Leave two lines after completion of each answer.
• Leave at least half inch margin on both sides of the answer sheet.

8. 15 MINUTE READING TIME HACK

• There is 30-50 % internal choice this time in each section. You get good 15
minutes in the beginning to read the question paper. Use this time to mark the
choice questions you are more confident in attempting to avoid wasting critical
thinking time while writing the exam.
• Mark the tough questions you definitely don’t know the answer to or where do
you feel you will struggle, and remember to leave space to come back to
answering them

9. COMMON ERRORS/MISTAKES COMMITTED BY THE STUDENTS

• Generally, students commit following mistakes which are to be taken care off:
1. Brain is not relaxed when they reach examination Hall.
2. They do not read the question paper thoroughly.
3. Not writing the question number in answer book.
4. Parts of some questions are attempted at different pages and not
numbered properly.
5. They forget to cross the wrong answer, while right answer is written in
following page.
6. Diagrams are not drawn properly/ labelled properly.
7. Unnecessary shading and beautification of diagrams.
8. They do not think about correct value points before answering the
questions.
9. They unnecessarily extend the answer. The answer should be brief, to
the point and based on value points.
10. Handwriting of students sometimes very bad which is to be taken care
of.
11. Students sometimes use coloured pens which are not recommended.
12. Students do not revise the answer script-- which is very much necessity.
