NURSE ANESTHETIST CAREER 1

Abstract

The following information is research that has been done on job positions of a Certified Nurse

Anesthetist. Similar to other positions within the medical field, CRNAs are in high demand.

There is an estimated increase in jobs of 38% from 2022 to 2032 for CRNAs. This is much

higher than the estimated growth of a registered nurse, which is estimated to increase 18%. To

become a CRNA one must first acquire a bachelor’s degree in nursing and licensure as a

registered nurse. The next step is to work as an acute care nurse for a few years. After that, one

would obtain a graduate degree in nurse anesthesia. They would then get their CRNA

certification and pass all state licensing exams. There are currently 2,460 CRNAs working

throughout Minnesota. The average wage of CRNAs ranges from $174,190 to $227,160. This

means the average hourly pay ranges from $73 to $190. This is an impressive salary for nursing.

CRNAs and anesthesiologists differ mainly because CRNAs are registered nurses. They assist in

administering anesthesia. Anesthesiologists, on the other hand, are medical doctors who

administer anesthesia. CRNAs are currently in high demand and this need will continue to grow

in the future.
