-Tempietto-
Tempietto, or "little temple" in Italian, is the name of a beautiful Renaissance building in Rome designed by Donato
Bramante in 1502. It has a rounded dome, lovely columns, and is considered by some to be the epitome of
Renaissance architecture because of its balance and harmony. This pi shawl features lace patterns that resemble
arched colonnades, windows, and vaulted ceilings, which are reminiscent of the features in its namesake's design. The
gradual shift of colors from dark to light also help to bring your gaze ever upwards to the beauty all around us, if we
will but look up! The lace patterns are modi ed from stitches found in Vogue Knitting Stitchionary, vol 5, edited by
Carla Scott. I hope you enjoy knitting this pi shawl and that it brings some joy and beauty to your wardrobe.
We appreciate you downloading our pattern! We pour tons of time and love into each one and hope you enjoy it.
