FACTORS AFFECTING WORLD HOW IT AFFECTS CLIMATE

CLIMATE
Presence of Mountains Mountains receive more rainfall than low
lying areas because as air is forced over
the higher ground it cools, causing moist
air to condense and fall out as rainfall.
Ocean Currents Ocean currents cool and warm the
continents.
Latitude Latitude affects climate by influencing the
intensity of the sun in a region. The angle
and duration of the sun’s energy
determine surface temperature so that
higher latitudes receive less heat, but
lower latitudes closer to the equator
receive significantly more heat.
Wind Winds affect the amount of precipitation
received in an area.

Greenhouse gases Possible sources

Processes, Volcanic Activity, Land-use,
