Activities
1. Teacher divides pupils into groups of four or five (choose someone who they have never worked together
before.)
2. The teacher asks each group to do a research about a Malaysian who has contributed to the field of science
and technology. (e.g. Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor, Malaysia’s first astronaut).
3. Pupils then have to prepare a presentation of the facts they found.
4. Pupils include these details in their presentation:-
Who is this notable person?
What did he or she do?
How does his or her work contribute to society?
How are you inspired by him or her?
How do you hope to contribute to society when you grow up, in science or in other fields?
5. Pupils may do their research using physical books or discussions with friends.
6. Pupils create a simple presentation using mahjong paper of A4 paper.
7. Each group must then make a presentation to the rest of the class
TEACHER’S REFLECTION:
Pupils could work together with their friends very well. The only thing was, they couldn’t find much
information about the person they had chosen.
