Note
1. All seafarers shall be provided a minimum of 10 hours of rest in any 24 hours period, and 77 hours in any
7 days period.
2. The hours of rest shall be divided into no more than two periods; one of which shall be of at least 6 hours
long, and the interval in between should not exceed 14 hours.
3. Exception from the required hours of rest in item 1 and 2 above provided that the rest period is not less
than 70 hours in any 7 days period.
4. The above requirements for rest periods need not be maintained in the case of an emergency or drill or in
other overriding operational conditions.
