Fees & Expenses for Academic Year 2023-24


All students coming to the US to study in F-1 status must show sufficient funding in order to be issued a
form I-20, needed to obtain an F-1 student visa. This is a federal requirement, not a W&J requirement
ITEM 1 SEMESTER 1 YEAR DESCRIPTION/COMMENT
Tuition $13,803 $27,605 Cost of W&J Tuition. Please note that this amount can increase each year.
Housing $4,080 $8,160 This is the cost for a double occupancy room. First year students traditionally live
in a double-occupancy room with a roommate. Note that some rooms have an air
conditioner
Meals (Board) $2,875 $5,750 First year students are required to purchase a 19 meals per week meal plan during
their first academic year at W&J. The college offers other meal plans and students
have the option to choose a different plan after their first academic year at the
college.
Refundable Housing $100 $200 This is a deposit in case of any housing damages. It will be returned if there are no
Deposit damages.
Student Activity, $305 $610 Allows student to attend all on-campus activities and events free of charge. Allows
Health and Services student access to health and counseling services.
Fee
One-Time $100 $100 This fee is applied to your bill only once to cover the orientation process expenses.
Orientation Fee Students pay this fee only during their first semester.
Personal Expenses** $600 $1,200 This is an estimated cost-of-living for the academic year that is not a fee paid to
the college. In can include: cell phone, personal hygiene products, extra
food/beverage costs (at local restaurants or grocery stores), entertainment and
recreation, etc.
Textbooks** $400 $800 These are approximations and depend on the courses selected. TEXTBOOKS ARE
NOT AVAILABLE IN THE LIBRARY
Personal Travel** $500 $1,000 These are approximations and depend on personal travel habits.
Health Insurance $690 $1,380 You are required to purchase health insurance for use during your time in the US.
Current cost is $115/month which may increase slightly. You must enroll on our
plan – we cannot waive the requirement even if you have alternate insurance.
Students are required to pay for 12 months to ensure continuous coverage
Total Cost $23,953 $47,805 This total represents the total amount of funds a student needs to show in order
to be issued the form I 20. The form I 20 is the documentation W&J issues that is
necessary for the F1 student application. Students can show funds through a
combination of W&J scholarships, sponsorship by an organization or government,
or by submitting bank statements from a person committed to financially
supporting a student’s academic study.
*Students selecting options other than the standard double room will be billed according to their selection.
Upgraded housing may not be available.

• Only items in the above chart that are in bold will appear on the student bill, if applicable. The other
items need to be included in the total funding that students must show to be issued an I-20, but are not
billable.
• Some courses have additional materials or instructions fees, such as science courses taught in a
laboratory, or private music lessons.
