Optimism and Gratitude
Pagbabalita
INTRODUCTION

Over the last several years, it cannot be denied that our news media consumption
has had an impact on our everyday lives. From the COVID-19 pandemic to political and
societal issues, it can be hard to feel that there are any good news sources out there
anymore. This situation created great distress and new challenges in our everyday
lives, and negative news has also affected the way we think, behave, and make
decisions in our daily lives.

It is for this reason that we want to heighten the awareness of everyone as well when
it comes to the sharing and consumption of good news. Several recent studies have
proven that sharing and consuming good news media positively impacts our mental
and physical health. Hearing and sharing positive news has been proven to decrease
anxiety, motivate us to positive action, boost our mood and outlook, improve our
relationships, help us adapt after difficult situations, and even improve heart health.

SPECIFICATION OF TASKS

I. My Faith Journal on Optimism and Gratitude (Christian Life Education)

After learning about the Biblical concept and truth, it is now time to do your Faith
Journal. A faith journal is one way for you to breathe and reconnect yourself to your
heart. It is one way of developing spiritual discipline so that faith, love, and hope can
take a tangible space in your life.

Directions: As you perform this practice, it is important that we carefully consider the
instructions and the guide questions so that we can fully acquire the benefits of this
experience. You can also set a quiet place for yourself and prepare the materials you
will be needing so that internal processing will not be hampered.

Reading: Read, meditate, and contemplate on the given passages or story.

CLE Lecture on Optimism and Gratitude pp. 1-16

The Ten Lepers (Luke 17:11-19)

Which part of the passage is speaking to you?

What are your personal insights or about Optimism and Gratitude? How do you
define each trait

Is being optimistic in life important? Why?

Is being grateful important? Why?

What do you think is the message of God to you behind these lessons?

Answer: Minimum of 15 lines for each.

On Optimism

In the story, the part where Jesus asked the Samaritan who came back where
the other 9 were, in my opinion, is somehow related to optimism. This is
because even though the 9 out of the 10 men who had leprosy were Jewish,
only the Samaritan came back. This shows us that good things may come from
people we least expect. My understanding of optimism is that it is a way of
being hopeful for the future. It is about seeing the world as a beautiful place.
Even though we go through difficult times in our lives, we should still look at
the bright side. Being optimistic is not just about how you should take it; it’s
also about how you should show it. It means showing that you are capable of
being happy even during the lowest times, demonstrating that there are
always solutions, and that nothing is impossible.

On Gratitude

When I read the passage of The Ten Lepers, the part that stood out to me was
that the only man who came and praised Jesus was the Samaritan. Within
those ten men who were cleansed, the foreigner was the only one who came
back to thank the Lord. This shows that gratitude can come from people you
don’t expect to give you gratitude. Being grateful comes naturally, but sharing
your gratitude is a choice. Being grateful is important in our lives because even
if someone shows us a simple act of kindness, we will feel happiness and relief.
A good feeling that makes us thankful for that person. We should also pay that
kindness forward. So showing our gratitude may encourage people to continue
their acts of kindness toward other people. I believe the message of God
behind this lesson is that we should be grateful even with small things .

Reflecting: Do internal processing and relate the passage with your own
understanding and experiences.

How do you feel after meditating on the lessons, passages or story?

Do you see yourself as an optimistic person? Why?

Do you see yourself as a grateful person? Why?

What are some challenges that you encounter that prevent you from being optimistic
and grateful?

If you have these traits, what benefits do you get from practicing them?

Answer: Minimum of 15 lines

After reflecting on the lessons, I feel content with the knowledge I've gained
because I believe it will assist me in becoming a more optimistic person in the
future. If you were to ask me now whether I am more optimistic or pessimistic, I
would say I lean towards the pessimistic side. This is because I don't yet have
the confidence to believe in myself fully due to the challenges I face. One of the
challenges I am currently confronting is maintaining a positive outlook
regarding my sister's health condition. However, my mother has encouraged
me to be strong and have faith in God. If I continue to practice and enhance my
optimism, I believe the benefit I would derive from it is an improvement in both
my mental and physical health. Being an optimistic person would have a
positive impact on my mental and physical health, as optimism can reduce
levels of anxiety, depression, and stress, resulting in a healthier lifestyle.
Additionally, being optimistic would also sharpen my problem-solving skills, as
it would help me develop a constructive mindset. Moreover, optimism can
foster stronger relationships, as it makes us more pleasant to be around.

Sharing: Recall a personal experience related to the lesson. Narrate this

experience and share how you responded to the situation. Then, you can also
cite ways on how you can go about it next time you would encounter that
situation again.

Is there a personal story related to the lesson being tackled? What lesson did you
learn from this experience? Narrate this story.

How can you as a student influence the people around you to be optimistic and
grateful?

What is your specific plan of actions to further develop the traits of optimism and
gratitude? Enumerate some ways and strategies.

Answer: Minimum of 15 lines

A personal story that isn’t really from me but from my parents. When I was born I
was a premature baby since I was born on the start of the 36th week of my
mother’s pregnancy. When I was two, my parents noticed that I would randomly
get bruises and brought me to a hospital. When the check up was over I was
diagnosed with ITP or idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura which is a type of
platelet disorder. This meant that if I ever got dengue at that very age there would
be a chance that I would die. But my parents thought that they needed to be
optimistic so they could go through that challenge together. The moment I slowly
healed they were very happy. Now, after learning about this story I was inspired to
become as optimistic as my parents. As a student, to influence the people around
me to be optimistic and grateful is to encourage them through anything they’re
going through. A specific plan of action to further develop the trait of being
optimistic is to set goals for yourself that you know you could reach and to have a
growth mindset.

Praying: Take a prayer out of your head and flow the words onto paper. Ask God
to speak to you and pour your heart out.

Is there something that you would want to thank God for?

What are the things and questions that bother you that you would want God to know
or answer?

What are the hopes, desires, and questions in your heart about this area that you
would want to bring to God?

Write a prayer to God asking Him to Help you be optimistic and grateful.

Answer: Minimum of 15 lines

I would want to thank God for my friends and family who give their support to
me even when I am on my lowest. I would want to thank God that I was blessed
to be with my family and friends until now. The things that are bothering me
right now is that I am scared for my sister’s heart surgery in the future because
the doctor told us that we should spend more time with my sister before the
surgery since it can become unpredictable. I hope that God would help me and
my family have a strong heart and guide us through this challenge. I also hope
that God will also guide my baby sister through her surgery in the future.
Dear God, I pray that You help me become a more optimistic person as I grow
and I also hope that You can help me develop the attitude of gratitude. Lord
please always be there for me as I go through the challenges in my life.

Faith in Color: Express your thoughts, feelings, and experiences with regard to
OPTIMISM and Gratitude through pictures, drawings, symbols, and colors.

balita.

lawschool at planong mag bar exams.

Ang religious group para sa mga abogado na kanyang sinalihan ay ang association
of roman catholic lawyers.

of the Philippines at Tarlac State University College of Law.

Ani niya na ang pagiging isang hukom ay walang anumang kaugnayan sa pagbibigay
ng kawang gawa. Ang kanyang paniniwala ay ang maykapal ang nagbibiyaya saatin
sa ano mang paraan.
