According to the 2015 Census, the age group with the highest population in Labisma is 10 to 14,
with 311 individuals. Conversely, the age group with the lowest population is 75 to 79, with 14
individuals.
Combining age groups together, those aged 14 and below, consisting of the young dependent
population which include infants/babies, children and young adolescents/teenagers, make up an
aggregate of 37.01% (886). Those aged 15 up to 64, roughly, the economically active population and
actual or potential members of the work force, constitute a total of 57.10% (1,367). Finally, old
dependent population consisting of the senior citizens, those aged 65 and over, total 5.89% (141) in all.
Purok 7 is a new establish purok in labisma located at the crossroad of labisma and Barcelona. It
is a purok composed of farmland which is mostly hills, slopes, and streams.
The household population of Labisma in was 267 broken down into 61 households or an average of 4.38
members per household.

Economic Activities
Rebellious Child – many households have problems related to their child, some problems are related to
alcohols, cigarettes, group fights which are typical problems in growing adolescents.
Child labor – in some households, children sometimes help at work for them to contribute more food
for the family.
Land Disputes - Fight in land borders leads to aggressive arguments and sometimes leads into fights.
Non proper waste disposal – households waste are not collected, so family find their ways to dispose of
their waste products which leads to pollutions in land and contamination of water supply.
No proper source of water supply – families that can't be reach by the water tub supply don't have a
stable and clean source of water, especially drinking water.
Ongoing developments
Libreng binhi sa katwahan – it is a project started by the past barangay captain which implemented free
seedlings for the community.
Cement water tub – a project to create a water tub for a clean and steady water supply for the
community.
Free rice every December - a project funded by the supposed budget of the Christmas party, instead of
a party the community have decided to make it more practical and give 5 kilos of rice in every month of
December.
Barangay medical center – an ongoing project , that is given a lot of attention, as it help to better the
health and prevent bad diseases in the community.
Among the stated problems within the community, the most common occurrence are the
related to rebellious children as age 10-19 have the biggest population within the community. Problems
related to healthcare are second most problematic, followed by land disputes and child labor.
In conclusion, the family in each household have a major impact in the various problems within
the community. The way of living and healthcare of each household has an impact on the overall well
being of its members. By connection in larger community, issues such as rebellious child, non proper
waste disposal, and child labor and disputes can give rise to other social problems. These may also cause
bigger problems such as social discrimination, mental health, and for the other to cause severe
pollution.
Understanding and then addressing the root of it all in every households is the key to having an
healthy and clean community. Initiatives that help promote counseling, positive parenting, proper
waste disposal and community support helps in breaking the cycle of these problems, which in turn
have a positive effect into the community. By starting the education of individual values and behavior in
the family, the community can solve problems before it can influence the family or the community.
