Hurling
Hurling is an ancient Irish game which is now played all over the world. Dating back around 3,000 years,
it bears a resemblance to other games including Gaelic football, rugby and hockey. It is played on a large
grass (1) ____ which has H-shaped goalposts at each end. The goalposts look like the ones used in
rugby but in hurling there is the addition of nets. The object of the game is to hit a small ball into the net
