The case study used in this paper is the Belvedere Bldg. of Verdon Parc Condominium, located in
Ecoland,Drive Corner Peacock St. Davao City, developed by DMCI Homes, the high rise
condominium building has 20 levels residential and 3 level podium parking, The Belvedere
tower is the first building of Verdon Parc that sets turnover last November, 2020, DMCI Homes
conformed the company’s standard quality management processes and Office of the City
Building Official requirements (OCBO), The building were subjected to structural stability
enhancement methods includes a seismic safety standards, which is a retrofitting technology
that examines the safety performance of the building to earthquakes.

The Business World Online cited and published DMCI Homes as they strengthened the
durability of its condominium buildings, taking into consideration of the unpredictable
damaging disaster happened last 2019. President Rodrigo Duterte threatened DMCI Holdings
Inc. for not granting to build last 2020, following the issues that they were found major cracks in
the structures. Another tragic happened last November, 2023, that the OCBO has uncovered the
structural hazards in this building, As of December 04, 2023 the Office of the City Building
Official confirmed that there are 230-unit owners in this building, 200 -unit owners have already
evacuated their units, while there are still 30-unit owners left and stay. (Super Radyo Digital)
