COMPANY NAME: JTM Bookkeeping and Accounting Services
COMPANY ADDRESS: San Fermin, Cauayan City, Isabela

Your comments and suggestions can assist us the school, and the company to improve the program
and the working environment. It would be appreciated if you could take a little time to contribute
on your views on how we could improve.

1. What was your best day & worst day on your internship?
- The best day of my internship was when I went to BIR Nagulian to handle document
processing for our clients. As a student not used to traveling far, it was a big step for me.
Doing the document processing alone during my first independent travel was challenging
but fulfilling. I learned a lot and gained valuable experience, making it the highlight of my
internship. While the toughest day during my internship happened when I was working on a
Financial Statement. In school, we had the flexibility to correct mistakes in our FS, but in the
corporate world, accuracy is crucial. I was computing the FS for a client, and any errors could
impact our company. The pressure of getting it right made the task stressful. However, I
found that understanding the process brought some enjoyment, even though it came with
its share of challenges.

2. Did you feel equipped in performing your duties & responsibilities? Did you feel in control of
your workload and why?
- Yes, I feel prepared to fulfill my duties and responsibilities. Prior to the start of my
internship, the school provided training, offering insights into what to expect during the
program. Additionally, on my first day, my supervisor conducted an orientation, enabling me
to understand my role better. This proactive approach allowed me to conduct research and
prepare, ensuring I am ready to handle any tasks assigned to me.
Yes, I feel I control my workload effectively. I've successfully completed all tasks assigned by
my supervisor either on time or even ahead of schedule. I consistently execute my tasks
accurately without errors. Occasionally, my supervisor expresses surprise because, despite
being the sole individual handling specific tasks, I am capable of completing them efficiently.

3. Was emphasis placed on the quality rather than the quantity of the work and why?
- Yes, in my role as an accounting associate at JTM Bookkeeping and Accounting Service, I've
learned the significance of prioritizing quality over quantity in our work. The emphasis on
high-quality work over a high volume is particularly crucial in accounting. As an accounting
associate, dealing with numbers and intricate details of our clients, such as recording
expenses, purchases, and sales from source documents to the Accounting Information
System, requires careful attention. Speed is not the primary focus, as being fast without
precision may lead to inefficiencies. It is more effective to work methodically, allowing for a
thorough review, identification of errors, and ensuring the work is done efficiently. In
another instance, when I visited Revenue District Offices during my internship, my
supervisors occasionally assigned me four documents to process, while at other times, it
was just one. In preparation for processing the documents, I made it a habit to double-check
them before heading to the Revenue District Office. This practice was essential to ensure
that I didn't overlook any documents, as forgetting even one could hinder the processing of
important paperwork.

4. Did you have a clear understanding of what was expected of you?

- Certainly, I had a clear understanding of my responsibilities. This involved completing
assigned tasks efficiently and comprehending the advice given by my supervisors before
undertaking any task. Much of my work required me to travel out of town, involving tasks
such as collecting client payments and processing documents at the BIR. My supervisors
expressed gratitude for my self-reliance, as I often completed tasks without needing to ask
them. For example, during a field assignment in BIR Cabarroguis, Quirino, although my
supervisor encouraged me to reach out with questions, I chose to consult the BIR staff
directly on a day when I had numerous inquiries about processing business closures. This
decision was based on my supervisor's acknowledgment that not all processes were within
their knowledge. Through these experiences, I believe I was able to meet their expectations
for me as an accounting associate.

5. Did you have an opportunity to use and develop your skills and knowledge?
- Yes, during my time as an accounting associate at JTM Bookkeeping and Accounting
Services, I had valuable opportunities to apply and improve my skills and knowledge. In the
beginning, my supervisor introduced me to many new terms during orientation, which
motivated me to research and understand each one. As I worked on assigned tasks, these
initially unfamiliar concepts gradually became more familiar, greatly contributing to my
learning experience. Completing the tasks assigned to me not only helped me improve my
existing knowledge but also allowed me to learn new skills. I became proficient in using
Accounting Information Systems (AIS) and learned how to record expenses, purchases, and

sales from client source documents to the AIS. Additionally, I gained the know-how of
manually recording client purchases in the purchase journal and explored the importance of
Financial Statements.

Engaging in fieldwork at the BIR expanded my skill set. I became skilled at processing various
documents, including Business Registration, Business Closure, updating books of accounts,
managing changes in name or address, requesting an ATP, changing the main branch of a
client's business, and processing client's EFPS. Furthermore, I gained insights into creating
checklists for processing these documents. This experience provided me with a
comprehensive understanding of different tax types and the corresponding forms needed
during document processing. Tasks like processing financial statements, collecting
payments, and managing client accounts not only allowed me to apply theoretical
accounting concepts learned in school but also developed practical skills. Handling
documents at the BIR and resolving inquiries further improved my problem-solving and
communication skills. This exposure to real-world accounting scenarios during my internship
significantly contributed to the continuous growth of my professional abilities and
knowledge in the field.

6. Did you find the performance management process useful and the feedback practical?
- Yes, I believe that the performance management process is essential, and the feedback from
my supervisors was practical and easy to understand. The connection between my
internship plan and my supervisors' expectations was well-established, ensuring that all
tasks given to me aligned with the set plan. The way everything was organized made it
smooth and according to the agreed-upon strategy.
This process not only helped me see how I'm doing in my internship but also provided
valuable insights into my strengths and areas where I can improve. Understanding my
strengths allowed me to focus on enhancing them, while recognizing my weaknesses gave
me a clear path for improvement. The feedback from my supervisors played a crucial role in
helping me perform my tasks more effectively. It served as a guide, enlightening me on the
specific areas I needed to focus on for better results.

7. How can the company improve their training and development?

- To improve training and development, the company can offer personalized training
programs based on individual needs and skill levels. Implementing mentorship programs
with experienced employees can provide valuable guidance and support. Encouraging
continuous learning through workshops, webinars, and courses helps employees stay
updated on industry trends. Cultivating a culture that values learning involves creating a
supportive environment and recognizing achievements. Overall, these steps contribute to a
workplace that prioritizes continuous improvement and professional growth.

8. List three things the company could do to better serve their interns
1. Organize workshops specifically focused on accounting principles, taxation regulations, and
other pertinent subjects to enrich interns' grasp of fundamental concepts in the accounting
field.
2. Create opportunities for interns to engage with finance professionals both within the
company and the broader industry.
3. Grant interns access to courses and certifications that contribute to their professional
development in accounting.
