Dear Team Aavishkaar,

I am writing to express my interest in the STEM Lead role at Aavishkaar. Ever since my childhood,
the world of Science and Mathematics has been the center of my life. Aavishkaar’s aim of taking
STEM education to those who either fear Mathematics and Science or are restricted due to financial
constraints, resonates with my own passion of taking STEM education to every household.

I started assisting my father in Mathematics tuition since class 8th. Later, in my college years, I
volunteered for NSS under Professor H.C. Verma and interacted with underprivileged children of
Nankari village (a village adjacent to IIT Kanpur campus). After failing to teach anything in my 1st
week, I tried to put myself in their shoes to understand their mindset better, and developed
innovative methods of engaging with them. For instance, I encouraged them to make mistakes and
instead of punishing them for their mistakes or making them feel guilty, I used to make them feel
enthusiastic about correcting their mistakes. This experience taught me the art of engaging with all
kinds of audiences, setting aside my presumptions and stereotypes

Ever since my IIT JEE preparation and later my UPSC CDS and UPSC CAPF preparation days, I
have tried to understand the concepts in the textbooks by relating them to real life examples. This
method not only helps in understanding the concept clearly but also helps in retaining the concept
ever after understanding it. I deploy the same method with my students.

As a political consultant with Nation with Namo and Inclusive Minds, I crafted engaging content for
political parties by understanding the challenges faced by underprivileged people, evaluating
current schemes and policies, and assessing their impact on beneficiaries. However, my work was
confined only to documentation. I was not getting the opportunity to be the direct party in the
process of uplifting the underprivileged. That was the time when I decided to take a big leap of faith
and contribute through the best skill that I possess, which is, teaching Mathematics and Physics.
Seeing the students' eyes light up with understanding, and witnessing my efforts transform
countless lives through education would be a constant source of joy.

I understand that joining Aavishkaar wouldn't just be a job, it would be an opportunity to join a
movement. I am confident that my passion, skills and unwavering commitment to make STEM
education a fun experience would help Aavishkaar achieve its goal. Also, working in the serene
foothills of Palampur, surrounded by like minded Science and Mathematics enthusiasts would be
enticing.
