<Speaker A> Thank you for calling Jefferson dental. This is Esmeralda.

How can I
help you?
<Speaker B> Yes, I am trying to figure out if y'all take children's Medicaid.
<Speaker A> Yes, we do.
<Speaker B> Okay, then I have a kind of complicated, so I'm gonna have to get their
dentist transferred, I guess, to y'all. But I have my older child that needs to
have wisdom teeth removed. Move. That grew in sideways.
<Speaker A> Okay.
<Speaker B> And her dentist office, like, oh, it needs to be done right away. And
I've been waiting for six months, and every time I call them, they don't call me.
<Speaker A> Oh.
<Speaker B> So I'm fed up. Jimboree is driving me crazy. But they have the x rays
and everything already. So do we need to schedule another appointment, or does she
just need to go straight to oral surgeon?
<Speaker A> I would say, well, we do have a doctor that does oral surgery at this
office. The only thing is that we don't do full sedation. And for some wisdom,
depending on how the area is, how the tooth is, sometimes a doctor refers the
patients to be sedated for the treatment. There's different types of sedation, but
the only one that we offer here is the local and nitrous gas. Other than that, we
do not offer any other type of sedation. So I'm not sure. Depending on the type of
extraction your child needs, then that's how we determine if we would have to refer
out. Now, most of the oral surgeon's office, they do offer sedation because of this
purpose, because we understand that some wisdoms can be difficult to extract and
they'd rather the patient be put to sleep.
<Speaker B> Yeah, I remember my son went to Jefferson Dental, like, 15 years ago,
but he went to one over there off of 59. I know Jefferson dental has gotten bigger
since then, so that's why I was like, I don't really know. But, I mean, waiting six
months to get her wisdom teeth removed when it's supposed to be a rush rush and
nobody calling me back. Just driving me crazy.
<Speaker A> Okay, so we can definitely go ahead and schedule patient in for a
consultation. I would rather schedule the patient with Dr. Wu. He is our doctor,
that he can do this type of extractions. Now, per Medicaid, we do have to bring the
patient in, take an x ray. The doctor would have to send a pre authorization to the
plan, which usually takes from five to seven days to get a response back for
approval for extraction. Are you okay bringing the patient in for the evaluation
first?
<Speaker B> Yes. So whenever I call to dentequest, who do I change the primary
dentist to? Dr. Wu or to somebody at your office?
<Speaker A> To somebody at our office.
<Speaker B> Okay. Who would I make that to?
<Speaker A> It would be the first name is Unatti, which is spelled unnati, and the
last name is Shaw Shah. All okay. Yes, ma'am.
<Speaker B> Because I know I would have to do that to get that part of it done.
<Speaker A> Yes, ma'am. Okay, just a moment. I'm trying to see if we can bring your
son for an evaluation this coming Monday on the 15th. Because Dr. Wu, he comes here
to do this type of surgeries. On Monday? On Monday. Okay, we can. One moment.
<Speaker B> Like I said, jimbo put a really bad taste in my mouth, so I'm.
<Speaker A> Just like, oh, sorry. But we can bring your son in on Monday the 15th,
and we can do 130 in the afternoon that we.
<Speaker B> Can do his divided stay a little later. Since she's high school, she
doesn't get home till a little bit later.
<Speaker A> Got it. Okay, we can do 315, and that would be the latest.
<Speaker B> Yeah, that'll work.
<Speaker A> Is that okay? Okay. And you said that she has been to a Jefferson in
the past?
<Speaker B> My son has. I don't believe she has, but I know she's been to friendly
dentist over Treshwig, and then she's been to Jimboree. She was friendly dentist
referred to. To Jimboree. But you can see maybe she's in there somewhere. I don't
remember when she was younger, if she ever went to Jefferson.
<Speaker A> What is her date of birth? Okay, one moment, please. And first and last
name, please.
<Speaker B> Jaden. Dang. Last name is D-A-N-G.
<Speaker A> Okay.
<Speaker C> Has been generated all the way?
<Speaker A> No, but I can create her as a new patient. Okay.
<Speaker B> My little one is also due for a dental checkup.
<Speaker A> One moment, please.
<Speaker C> Saying that you don't have an active policy, so you may want to call
your insurance company to make sure that they're showing you active in their
system. I know that you're paying for it, but sometimes they have to trigger that,
so it may not be triggered. Give them a call. Unless they use a different company
once they roll over.
<Speaker A> One moment.
<Speaker C> Okay, so they usually don't use a different company, but I would just
call them to feature. Just let them know that you're not showing active.
<Speaker A> Yes, of course. What's the group number? Okay, let me finish scheduling
this appointment, and then I can move to schedule for that day. I wouldn't have
anything else to.
<Speaker B> Wait on her.
<Speaker A> Okay.
<Speaker B> Because they're both due for a choko, but I figure we got to get her
wisdom teeth removed first.
<Speaker A> Definitely. Okay, and how do I spell her first name?
<Speaker B> J-A-D-E-N.
<Speaker A> Okay. And a phone number, please.
<Speaker B> Easiest one. You.
<Speaker A> Okay? Do you have her Medicaid number with you right now?
<Speaker B> I do not. And I was never given one, which is a very complicated story
because I don't even have them on Medicaid. Their dad had them on.
<Speaker A> Oh.
<Speaker B> And then he passed away, and they still have Medicaid, and I have not
ever been able to get their Medicaid number. Well, I was trying to look it up on
Dennis to change it, and I can't do anything without their id number. And I'm like,
here we go again.
<Speaker A> Okay.
<Speaker C> Ready?
<Speaker A> You said that.
<Speaker B> Her birth.
<Speaker A> Okay, I scheduled her already for Monday the 15th at 315 in the
afternoon, however, it's just going to be for her evaluation, okay? For her
checkup. That x ray that we take, we are going to send it to the plan, along with a
narrative asking for Medicaid to cover for her extraction. Okay?
<Speaker B> Correct.
<Speaker A> Okay. Perfect.
<Speaker C> We.
<Speaker A> Okay.
<Speaker B> Thank you.
<Speaker A> You're welcome. Have a great day.
<Speaker B> You, too. Thanks.
<Speaker A> Thank you. Bye.
