sensitivity of literature as means of communication in learning
nationalism, patriotism, and volunteerism? Do we really learn
nationalism and patriotism with the present pedagogy of Rizal
course?

No, because Jose Rizal's works significantly influenced and

contributed to the current state of the Philippines. It is only appropriate
that Filipino students, educators, and citizens learn about and are
familiar with Jose Rizal's profound ideals on nationalism, patriotism,
and volunteerism.
Through Jose Rizal's life, we may study how he overcame a
variety of problems in his life, which is how the teachings of Rizal's
course allow us to understand what nationalism, patriotism, and
volunteerism is. showing that you can support your country without
resorting to violence or the use of weapons. In his life, Jose Rizal faced
many difficult choices and situations, yet he always responded
respectfully and intelligently. He awoke and sparked the Filipino
Nationalism through his works. The majority of Filipinos are willing to
sacrifice their lives in order to rescue their nation from Spanish colonial
rule since their patriotism for their country has been reawakened. We
might claim that Filipinos displayed their nationalism and patriotism on
the day of the GomBurZa's execution.
