LESSON ACTIVITY
PRE-LESSON 1. Pupils greet the teacher.
2. Write on board ‘The story of your life’. Pupils brainstorm words and phrases that
they remember from the song. Write them on board. (21st CA)
LESSON DEVELOPMENT 3. Pupils listen to song again p.119, CD3.36. Explain that most songs have rhyming
words at end of some lines. Ask: What word in first verse rhymes with where?
(there). Pupils read second verse and find a rhyme (fun, one). Repeat with other
verses: Verse 3 (long, song) 4 (where, there) 5 (fun, one) 6 (none: ‘song’
repeated).
4. Write on board ‘wrong’, ‘son’, ‘chair’, ‘sun’, ‘strong’, ‘bear’. Pupils in pairs match
these with pairs of words that rhyme in Step 1. Help pupils to notice words with
same sound but different spelling e.g. fun, one, son, sun. (HOTS)
5. Pupils do Activity 5, Use It!
6. After pupils talk about their imagined life in Step 2, they write ‘The story of
your life’ using sentence starters in box. They check spelling, punctuation and
past verbs. Pupils swap texts with a partner and read them. Partner draws 1–5
stars to say how much they like the life story. Choose pupils to imagine they are
60 and to read texts aloud with an old person’s voice. (CBA)

Vocabulary: Simple past tense regular and irregular verbs e.g. grew up, wanted;
Homophones: fun/one; sun/son

PRE-LESSON 1. Pupils greet their teacher.


2. A few adjectives are written on the board. (Ex: easy, hard, popular, fun, …..).
Pupils are asked to construct a sentence using the any of the adjectives and
share with the class.
LESSON DEVELOPMENT 3. A few topics (sports/animals/food/school) are written on the board. Each word is
circled and using a graphic organizer, pupils must add an adjective that can be
used for the topics. Teacher gives an example for each topic.
4. CD2 Track 52 is played. Pupils listen to the song and guess the topic related to
the song.
5. Pupils are guided to play the game ‘TABOO’. Each group is given a set of cards.
Each card has a sport written on it. Pupils take turns to take the cards. One pupil
come to the front, pick the card and put it on their forehead on display for their
group members. That particular pupil can’t see what’s written on the card. Other
group members who can see the word must describe the sport without using the
sport word until their friend guesses the sport.
6. Pupils play the game.
POST-LESSON 7. Pupils share their thoughts on the game.
