GREEN WHEELS
The blog about transport and a greener future

Air pollution is normally caused by cars. It's a very simple fact: when more people
drive cars, pollution increases so if fewer people drove cars, the air would be much
cleaner. So what do you do in a huge country like China? China has the largest
population in the world. It has 120 large cities with more than a
million people in each one. There are already about 200 million
cars, lorries, buses and motorbikes on the roads in China. If its
population grows according to experts' predictions, the number
of vehicles there will increase to about a billion by the year
2050. The terrible effect on air pollution will be disastrous.
Electric vehicles are considered one possible solution to this problem, and millions of
electric bicycles are produced in China every year. But electric bikes can't replace
public transport like trains and buses. So, China is planning to build something new
and exciting - the 3D Express Coach. What is it? It's a giant bus. Shenzhen Hashi
Future Parking Equipment Company had the idea for this amazing invention. It will
run on electric and solar power, and it will travel over the traffic - not in the traffic. It
will transport more than 1,000 people and will save up to 860 tons of fuel a year.
In the meantime, there's another mega transport system in the planning stage in
California - the Hyperloop. The inventors of the
Hyperloop are planning to make giant tubes or tunnels,
with capsules travelling quickly through them! If it's
successful, the Hyperloop will transport passengers 560
kilometres between San Francisco and Los Angeles in just
35 minutes. The solar energy that it uses will be 100%
emission-free. If it were my decision, I would start production on both these green
forms of transport immediateły.
