1 General
Original instruction manual This document is an ORIGINAL INSTRUCTION MANUAL as
defined by the EC Machinery Directive.
This manual is essential for safe and efficient working with the
device.
The manual is a component of the device and must be kept with
the device so it is accessible for operators at all times. Operators
must have carefully read and understood this manual before
starting to work with the device. A fundamental requirement for
safe working is compliance with all specified safety instructions
and work instructions in this manual.
The local accident prevention regulations and general safety
regulations for the area of operation of the device must also be
observed.
Illustrations in this manual are provided for basic understanding
and may deviate from the actual design of the device.
Supplier documentation The manuals for the OEM components are also applicable in
addition to this manual. The instructions in those manuals,
particularly safety instructions, must be observed at all times.

2 Device Description
2.1 Purpose
The device is designed for integration in a system.
It is used for the metering of bulk material.
2.4 Marking
2.4.1 Nameplate
A nameplate with the following information is installed on the
device:

Additional nameplates are located on components
installed on the device. Observe the information on
the nameplates.
3 Safety
This section contains an overview of important aspects of safety
for optimum protection of operators and for safe and trouble-free
operation.
Non-observance of the operating and safety instructions in this
manual may result in serious hazards.
NOTICE
Bulk material
The operator must ensure that the bulk material
meets the properties specified in the "Technical
Data" section.
The operator must implement suitable measures
(product infeed monitoring) to ensure that the
bulk material does not contain foreign bodies.
The operator must earth the device at a central
location. This earthing must be clearly marked.
The operator must ensure that all electrical
components are correctly earthed.
The owner should ensure suitable measures to
prevent product blockage.
Before filling the bulk material into the device,
take suitable protective measures (e.g. sieving
the bulk material) to protect the device from
lumps or foreign bodies.
NOTICE
Technically correct status
The operator is responsible for ensuring that the
device is always maintained in a perfect
technical condition!
The operator must ensure that the maintenance
intervals defined in this manual are observed or
adjusted in accordance with the actual load on
the device.
The owner must ensure that the function and
completeness of all safety equipment is checked
regularly.
3.2.1 Qualifications
NOTICE
Qualifications
Improper handling of the device may cause
serious injury and material damage!
All activities must be carried out by qualified
personnel only.
The instruction manual defines the following
qualifications for various activities:
Trained persons
have been trained by the owner to carry out their
assigned duties and to recognise the potential
hazards of incorrect actions.
Skilled personnel
have the technical training, knowledge and
experience and awareness of the relevant
regulations to enable them to carry out their
assigned tasks and to recognise and avoid
potential hazards.
Skilled electrical personnel
are, due to their technical training, knowledge,
experience, awareness of the relevant
regulations and authorisation, capable of
working on electrical systems and independently
recognising and avoiding potential hazards.
Skilled pneumatic personnel
are, due to their technical training, knowledge,
experience, awareness of the relevant
regulations and authorisation, capable of
working on pneumatic systems and
independently recognising and avoiding potential
hazards.
NOTICE
Unauthorised persons
Unauthorised persons must not be permitted
access to the working area.
In case of doubt, speak to persons and direct
them away from the working area.
Stop all work while unauthorised persons are in
the working area.
DANGER
Electrical current
Electric shock may be fatal!
Contact with live parts results in a direct risk of
death.
Damaged insulation or individual components may
be life-threatening.
If damaged insulation is detected switch off the
power supply immediately and have the damage
repaired.
All work on the electrical system must be
entrusted exclusively to skilled electrical
personnel.
Before all work switch off power to the electrical
system and check that it is disconnected.
Before maintenance, cleaning and repairs switch
off power supply and lock to prevent
unauthorised reactivation.
Do not bridge (bypass) or disable fuses. Always
replace fuses with new fuses of the same type.
Keep moisture away from live parts. It may
cause short circuiting.
DANGER
Pneumatics
Danger due to pneumatic energy!
Pneumatic energy may cause serious injuries.
Pneumatically actuated parts may move
unexpectedly.
Damage to components may allow air to escape
under high pressure and cause injury (e.g. to the
eyes).
All work on the pneumatic system should be
entrusted exclusively to trained skilled
personnel.
Pressure must be eliminated on pneumatic
components when working on these. Note the
pressure accumulators. Accumulators should
also be depressurised.
Do not increase pressure settings above the
maximum permitted value.
DANGER
Moving parts
Danger due to moving parts!
Rotating and/or linear moving parts may cause
serious injury.
During operation, do not reach into moving parts
or fiddle with moving parts.
Do not open covers during operation.
Do not remove or disable safety equipment.
Please consider time-delayed movements:
Before opening covers, ensure that all parts
have stopped moving.
CAUTION
Lifting loads
Danger when lifting loads!
Lifting heavy loads exceeding 25 kg can lead to
injuries.
Observe occupational health and safety
regulations.
Use suitable lifting gear.
Enlist the help of a second person.
WARNING
Improper working
Danger due to improper working!
Observe general occupational health and safety
regulations and safe working rules.
Before starting work, ensure that there is
adequate access.
Keep the workplace clean and orderly. Loosely
deposited and scattered components and tools
are causes of accidents.
Secure components to prevent them from falling
down or over.
Use ladders and fall protection systems.
Install components correctly. Observe the
specified bolt tightening torques.
3.5 Signage
Danger of crushing DANGER
Danger of crushing and shearing!
Moving parts
Only put the machine into operation when the
product inlet or outlet is connected.
NOTICE
Emergency off equipment
The device is integrated in a system and does
not have separate emergency off equipment.
The operator must ensure that emergency off
equipment is installed in conformity with the
applicable accident prevention regulations.
The operator must inform operating personnel
about the location and function of the emergency
stop equipment and must retain proof of
instruction.
NOTICE
Measures in case of accident
Trigger emergency off immediately.
Initiate first aid measures.
Rescue persons from the danger zone.
Notify supervisors at workplace.
Call emergency services.
Clear accesses for emergency vehicles.

NOTICE
Max. operating values
Before commissioning the machine, ensure that
all operating values are within the permissible
parameters!
See technical data sheet.
5.1.1 AGP3
NOTICE
Open position
The AGP has to be in the open position during
operation to ensure free discharge.
WARNING
Danger of crushing
Danger of crushing due to moving parts.
A crush hazard exists when reaching into the outlet
pipe.
The outlet pipe always has to be connected with
the metering pipe during metering operation.
A suitable collar has to be used to firmly connect
the outlet that is open from below with the
downstream piping or container.
The upper cover of the AGP always has to be
secured during metering operation.

Proper transport
Damage due to improper transport!
Significant property damage may be caused by
improper transport.
When unloading packaged items on delivery and
during on-site transport, proceed carefully and
observe the symbols and instructions on the
packaging.
Use only the specified attachment points.
Do not remove packaging until shortly before
assembly.
6.4 Packaging
6.5 Storage
Storage of packages Store packages under the following conditions:
Do not store outside.
Store in dry and dust-free conditions.
Do not expose it to aggressive substances.
Do not expose to direct sun.
Avoid mechanical vibrations.
Storage temperature: 15 to 35 °C.
Relative humidity: max. 60%.
If stored for more than three months, inspect the status of all
parts and the packaging regularly. If necessary, restore or
replace the preservation.

Proper storage
In some cases packages have instructions for
storage in addition to the above requirements. These
instructions must also be observed.
7 Installation
7.1 Safety instructions for installation
The instructions in this section must be observed during
installation in addition to all instructions in "Safety".
Configuration 2:
Drive of the auger horizontal,
drive of the intromitter vertical

Place the seal (2) on the trough (1). Place the container (4) on
the seal and attach with the clamp (4).
NOTICE
Proper tool
The use of an impermissible combination of scarifier
and metering tool will damage the device!
7.6 Function
The high accuracy feeder is used for the metering of bulk
material. The metering tool is driven by a geared motor. The
discharge flow can be varied by changing the drive speed of the
gear motor.
The sealing air is supplied to the shaft seals via a hose suitable
for the plug connection provided.
1. Connect the sealing air supply to the plug connection (1).
2. Set the (customer side) sealing air pressure on the pressure
reducing station at
0.2 to 0.3 bar above the internal pressure in the product area
(trough).
8 Initial Commissioning
8.1 Safety instructions for initial commissioning
The instructions in this section must be observed during initial
commissioning with and without bulk material in addition to all
instructions in "Safety".
1. Switch off power supply (if not already done) and lock to
prevent reactivation.
2. Check that the device is earthed as specified.
3. Ensure that all power supply lines are installed correctly and
fused.
4. Check all connections for tightness and leaks.
5. Ensure that there are no tools or other items (screws etc) in
the device.
6. Ensure that the manufacturer has attached the arrow
indicting the direction of rotation.
7. Check the gear oil level (see manufacturer's specifications).
NOTICE
Vibrations
Damage to the device by vibrations!
Vibrations indicate that the device has not been
correctly installed and may cause damage.
If vibrations are detected stop the device
immediately and contact the manufacturer.
NOTICE
Test run
The test run with bulk material must only be
carried out if the test run has been carried out
without bulk material and any deficiencies
remedied.
The minimum filling height of the bulk material
must be 100 mm above the trough flange.
NOTICE
Dosing feed rate
The required dosing feed rate can be adjusted by
varying the speed and through corresponding weight
measurements.
9 Operation
The device is operated as a component in a system. Operators
are not required at the device during operation. The system
controller switches the device on and off with reference to the
safety regulations and the working and operating conditions.
9.2 Operation
The operation of the control of the device must be described in a
corresponding manual which is to be created by the system
builder or the operating company.
10 Malfunctions
This section describes possible causes of malfunctions and how
to correct them.
CAUTION
Environmental hazard
Environmentally hazardous substances
Observe the following information for environmental
protection during maintenance work:
Remove leaked, used or excess grease from all
lubrication points manually supplied with
lubricant and dispose of in accordance with
regulations.
11.3 Maintenance
NOTICE
Additional maintenance work
Contact the manufacturer for maintenance or repair
work not described in these instructions to avoid
improper execution or damage. See title page for
address.
NOTICE
Sealing gas supply
During cleaning ensure that product or cleaning
agents do not penetrate the shaft seal.
During cleaning, switch on the sealing gas feed.
11.3.1 Cleaning
The device must be cleaned inside and outside at regular
intervals.
NOTICE
Improper cleaning method
Incorrect cleaning may damage seals, etc.!
Ensure that the temperature of cleaning agents
does not exceed the maximum permissible
values.
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
Use only cleaning agents that do not chemically
damage the unit.
Take the on-site requirements into account when
selecting the cleaning agent.
Do not use high-pressure cleaners or
compressed air.
NOTICE
Sealing gas supply
During cleaning ensure that product or cleaning
agents do not penetrate the shaft seal.
During cleaning, switch on the sealing gas feed.
1. Ensure that no product can flow back into the unit and empty
the unit.
2. Deactivate the device and the upstream and downstream
equipment/parts of the system and secure them against
reactivation.
3. Ensure that there are no ignition sources in the work area.
4. Ensure that the device has cooled to ambient temperature.
5. Ask the supervisors on site what additional personal
protective equipment is required to exclude the risk of
damage to health from substances in the unit. Use required
personal protective equipment.
11.3.5 Intromitter
There are different types of intromitters, depending on the
application and the bulk material to be processed.

NOTICE
Mounting screws
The two mounting screws are of different
lengths.
Make sure that the longer screw is used to fix
the scarifier.
NOTICE
Drive shaft seals
When changing or maintaining the seals, make sure
that the shaft surface is not damaged by increased
friction and that the drive motor is not overloaded.
O-ring seal
The stuffing box seal package /O-ring seal package does not
require readjustment until the wear limit is reached.
The wear limit is reached when the compressed air consumption
exceeds 10 l/min.
If the wear limit of a drive seal has been reached, both must be
replaced, i.e. for the metering tool drive and for the intromitter
drive.
To remove:
1. Loosen the plug (10) with hook wrench 30-32 mm according
to DIN 1810.
The spring is under slight tension. While loosening, ensure
that the plug is loosened in a controlled manner by applying
slight counterpressure.
2. Pull out the drive shaft (6) with the support ring (7) and the
stuffing box (8).
3. Remove the spring (5), support ring (4), stuffing box (3) and
sealing ring (2) from the flange (1).
Installation:
The drive seals are installed in reverse order.
12.2 Disposal
The manufacturer or the customer can dispose of the device.
CAUTION
Hazardous waste
Environmental damage due to incorrect
disposal!
Electrical and electronic scrap must only be
disposed of by approved specialist companies.
