1 Install the wheel chocks.

2 Install the nose landing gear and the main landing gear ground lock safety

devices (as necessary). REF: AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001
3 If aircraft towing is required, place the towing lever in the "towing position" and

4 Install Pitot, Static covers and other blanks if aircraft ground time is over 4

5 Review the aircraft technical log, cabin defect log, acceptable deferred defect
log, Cabin deferred defect log, PFR through MCDU and start corrective actions AF
as necessary.
NOTE: If the aircraft electrical network is not energized, perform items 6 and 7

otherwise continue with item 8.
6 Do a safety check of the flight compartment for correct position of the
AF
controls.
7 Energize the aircraft electrical network if necessary.

8 If ‘STS’ has appeared on the upper ECAM DU, check for messages in the
maintenance section of the STATUS page on the lower ECAM DU. Start AF
corrective actions as required.
9 ENGINE OIL
Check oil level and replenish as per AMM TASK 79-00-00-610-801.
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE CLOTHING WHEN YOU USE OIL. OIL CAN
CAUSE SKIN IRRITATION.
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU WORK ON THE ENGINE AFTER THE
ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE CAN STAY HOT FOR A
LONG TIME AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN.
WARNING: DO NOT REMOVE THE OIL TANK CAP UNTIL 5 MINUTES EN
MINIMUM AFTER ENGINE SHUTDOWN. THIS WILL LET THE
PRESSURE BLEED OFF. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS
PRECAUTION, HOT OIL CAN BURN YOUR EYES AND SKIN.
CAUTION: DO NOT DRY MOTOR OR OPERATE THE ENGINE WITHOUT
SUFFICIENT OIL. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
CAUTION: DO NOT LET FUEL OR OIL FALL ON THE ENGINE. YOU MUST
IMMEDIATELY REMOVE UNWANTED FUEL OR OIL WITH A
CLOTH. THE FUEL OR OIL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO SOME
ENGINE PARTS.
CAUTION: YOU MUST EXAMINE THE OIL LEVEL BETWEEN 5 MINUTES AND
60 MINUTES AFTER ENGINE SHUTDOWN.

Do a check of engine oil level on the tank sight gauge and replenish
if it is below the “-1” mark (quarts). Record the uplift in the aircraft
technical log.
ii. For EDTO certified A/C:
a) Do a check of the engine oil level on the tank sight gauge and
replenish to “FULL” level if it is below the “-1” mark (quarts).
Compute oil consumption since last uplift and record in the
aircraft technical log. EN
b) Check no oil filter “CLOG” indication on ECAM ENG Page.
Record Oil uplift:

10 APU OIL LEVEL CHECK
Check oil level and replenish as per AMM TASK 12-13-49-612-001.
CAUTION: WAIT AT LEAST 15 MINUTES AFTER THE LAST APU SHUT DOWN
BEFORE PERFORMING THE LEVEL CHECK AND SERVICING.
i. For NON-EDTO A/C:
If ECAM APU page shows “LOW OIL LEVEL” message, replenish
APU oil tank to FULL level and record uplift in the aircraft
technical log.
ii. For EDTO A/C:
a) If ECAM APU page shows “LOW OIL LEVEL” message, replenish EN
APU oil tank to FULL level. Compute oil consumption since last
uplift and record in the aircraft technical log.
b) Check no “Oil filter clog” (APU Maintenance status on ECAM.)
Follow the TSM procedure if Class 2 message indicates
discrepancy with APU system including oil filter clog.

c) the Infant/Child Key has been left installed,
d) The battery power is low.
Press the i-button for instructions.
- If the “Ready” light is off but the AED is not chirping and the i-
button is not flashing: The following may be the probable
causes:
a) there is no battery inserted,
b) the battery is depleted,
c) The defibrillator needs repair.
