number of operations that we handle is at an average of 30 operations a month
with a record of lifting operations without accidents (Zero LTI).

MARINE FACILITY SECURITY OFFICER (MFSO)


COURSE

Introduction

This course is based on MSC/Circ 1188, “Guidelines on training and certification


for Port Facility Security Officers”, and aims to provide knowledge to those who
may be designated to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Port Facility
Security Officer, as defined in section A/2.1.8 (and section A/17) of the ISPS Code,
and in particular the duties and responsibilities with respect to the security of a
marine facility, for ensuring the development (or for developing) of, implementing
maintaining and updating a Marine Facility Security Plan and for liaising with Ship
Security Officer (SSOs) and with Company Security Officer.

Objective

Upon successfully completed the course, the participants shall be able to;
1. Develop, maintain and supervise the implementation of a port facility
security plan
2. Assess security risk, threat and vulnerability
3. Undertake regular inspections of the port facility to ensure that appropriate
security measures are implemented and maintained
4. Ensure that security equipment and systems are properly operated, tested
and calibrated
5. Encourage security awareness and vigilance
