Floods and Typhoons this disaster destroys everything on its way making people stranded and

killing them as well. Luckily, cubao doesn't get flooded. But we always have to be prepared.

Page 3: Profile
The family consists of 4 people, the father, mother, son, and daughter. Their numbers are
hidden for privacy reasons. These 4 people lives in cubao in a 300(Square meter duplex house).

Page 4: Scenarios

Let's go to some scenarious that might happen to our/their house.

During a heavy typhoon lights typically go on and off or totally cuts off due to posts getting wet
or malfunctioning. It is very important to have flash lights in every disaster. This will allow us to
navigate during the disaster.

Another scenario is flooding inside the house. I have said that flooding doesn't really occur
much at cubao but drainage can be blocked and cause floods. Usually, barangays fix this
problem as soon as possible, but for protection put up high wall blocks to prevent it going into
the house.

Last scenario is being stranded, let's say someone is not inside the house and the rain is pouring
hard. They can be stranded and no one can assist them back, increasing the chance to get ill or
get injured.

Page 5: Hazard mapping

Here are the hazards inside the house:

In the house most of the floors are tiles and polished pavements, these floors are extremely
slippery when it is wet that It can cause minor or major injuries.

Ang next ay open canals. Open canals are potholes that can parang take not just water, this can
cause blockage or magbabara pag exposed sya. If meron sa loob ng house, pwede mag flood
inside the house. Usually, naayos ito ng barangay. Pero may chance pa rin hindi naayos or hindi
naayos Mabuti.

Sa house nila, may mga structures na parang gigiba na or tutumba na sa onting galaw. As much
as possible, iwasan natin ito at pa ayos agad to prevent injuries and added disaster.

Ang last pero not the least is yung wires and outlets na nakalapag lang sa baba or not covered
outlets. This will cause electrocution when exposed to water, electrocuting people near.

To avoid o para maiwasan itong mga hazards eto ang need gawin
Page 6:

For the slipper floors, always wear slippers or place mats that are slip proof to prevent it from
happening.

For open canals, like I have said previously it will be fixed by local officials but as much as
possible do not put any objects that will block the canals.

Poor structures are very dangerous not only for floods and typhoons, if the family has funds,
put foundation immediately to prevent further disasters and if not, stay away from it as much
as possible.

And for the wires and outlets, it should be unplugged and covered by plastic to prevent
electrocution.

Page 7: Duties

Each member of the home has a duty that they need to do in times of disasters like this
For this family, the father makes sure that the house is secured and safe. Removing all the
electric devices and covering all outlets.

The mother and daughter prepares the go bags and takes it when the time comes.

The son helps fortify the house hold with the father and makes sure that his sister is safe.

Page 8: House Mapping

On the house mapping we can see some signs that indicate that one might slip or get
electrocuted at those areas. These are to be maintained and secured. We can also see the
entrances and exits can be used in case of evacuating the house, though the family always uses
the house, we can assume that they memorized this already.

Page 9: Meeting Place (In case the evacuation site is not viable)

If one gets stranded like I said during discussing the scenarios, we have a planned location to
meet up or go to incase something like that happened. The evacuation site is one thing but
there is also a school near the home that can easily be seen by the community. The hotlines for
emergencies are to be remembered to get help in scenarios like being stranded and
emergencies.
Page 10: Community map

This is the community the family is located, if they memorize this, they will navigate with the
quickest way to the evacuation site. Memorizing the map of the community will help gather the
needs and paths to evacuation places. The nearest stores, drug stores, hospitals, evacuation
sites, open areas, and etc.

Page 11: Evacuation Center

The first plan after evacuating the house together is to go shelter at the murphy town market,
the first evacuation center at the community. Very close to the home of the family and
accessible to all.

Page 12: Hotlines

Emergency hotlines of cubao is the same for the whole Quezon city, covering all natural and
man-made disasters. The police station is also written to get the closes help for rescue, the
brgy. Contact is also here to get more people to help and access all the hotlines.

Page 13-15: Go bag

In this next 2 slides, these are the materials inside the four go bags the family have in case they
need to evacuate or got stranded. Having this go bags is a necessity in a disaster to survive
incase rescue is late or does not arrive at all.

PAGE 16: Documentation

While eating out, they discussed what to do during a flood. The daughter is taught the contact
information and the family talked about how to escape a flood. They all had a blast planning
and really got immersed in discussing the topic.

Fire Disaster script

Page 17: Intro

Next plan is for fire Disaster plan Fires is a useful yet dangerous tool for a man to have, without
care it can cause tragedy in matter of minutes.

Page 18: Familiy profile

It will be the same family with a different disaster plan
Page 19: Scenarios

Let’s go over the possible scenarios in a fire disaster I’ve written 4 common scenarios that cause
fire disasters that might happen to our/their environment.

Let’s talk about them and how it should be prevented The first and most common cause of fire
is unchecked gas stoves and tanks or gas explosions. These are very dangerous being left a one
without turning them off or sealing them off. One spark or ignite can cause it to explode when
they are leaking gas. Always double check the stove and tank if it is sealed properly of turned
off. Make sure to maintain the hose and tank, observe for damages and replace if needed.

Next is faulty outlets and wires, these are another disaster waiting to happen. Avoid using wires
with open rubbers and faulty outlets. This can lead to sparks and explosions as well when
combined. As much as possible throw away these types of outlets and wires and replace with
new and safe ones.

Last and frequent cause of disasters is manmade fire accidents and natural fire disasters.
People are clumsy and it can cause disasters, people who don’t know how to control or use fire
can get into an accident who hurt themselves or cause a big disaster. Do not play with fire, use
fire when only necessary and keep away from fire. Always know how to extinguish a fire and
always be wary when using it.

Page 20: Hazard mapping

The first picture is an electric stove, although it is an electric stove it still can cause explosions
and fire disasters if not used correctly. This takes a lot of electricity that can surge if the outlet
or wire is not maintained or openly accessible to any damage factors.

Second picture is a computer. Computers are very common to overheating when it is used
heavily and can cause short circuits and explosions due to the power supply.

Third picture shows the most common cause of household fire disaster. The gas tank and stove.
A major hazard in every household that can cause casualties. If the tube is leaking or the gas
tank or stove is, it will immediately explode if ignition is created.

And for the last one, well, ano pa nga ba kundi wires and outlets ulet. Pag na parami ang pag
saksak sa outlet pwede sumabog sa kakarelease ng electricity sa lahat. It can cause disasters in
itself.

Page 21: Preventive measures

Let us go with the task and responsibilities of each member of the household.
Just like the flood disaster, the father still secures the house hold, making sure that the electric
devices and fuse bo

boxes are in check. The mother still prepares the go bags as well since it is the most important
part in evacuating, the needs of the family are in those bags. The son and daughter should
always know where the evacuation sites are and know basic fire drills and first aid.

(Show map) This map indicates the nearest evacuation sites for the family to travel to.
Everyone should memorize this map to avoid getting lost in the panic the fire may cause. now
that we know what to do in a fire situation. let’s go to the next plan. As usual when the
evacuation site fails there is a place where all the family members can meet up together.

Documentation: the son prepares the fire hydrants. Daughter places hotlines on a paper that is
placed on the refrigerator, also prepared the go bags for the family. The discussion was the
same from the last disaster plan, everyone sat down and talked what to do incase of an
emergency

Earthquake disaster plan Earthquakes are seismic activities that happen during tectonic plates
pushing and pulling

These things can happen Falling Objects: In an earthquake, objects fall and get destroyed,
having a high chance of getting hit or injured by these objects. make sure you are secured
under a strong foundation like a table or bed. After an earthquake aftershocks occur causing
more havoc, make sure to be prepared for it and do not leave the table or bed until its safe.
Expects that this earthquake will wreck the whole neighborhood and city if it is very powerful.
as much as possible be in an open area away from destroyed structures that might get you
injured or worse. Hanging sharp objects should be secured or kept away if not needed. Glass
and mirrors are also hazardous during an earthquake, as much as possible secure the mirrors or
buy plastic mirrors instead to prevent it from shattering all over the ground during an
earthquake. Cracks on the wall are signals that the foundation of the house may need some
repairs. As much as possible always maintain the integrity of the house.

Other hazards include windows, sharp objects, and heavy materials that might go around the
place when an earthquake occurs. In the family we distributed the tasks like this.

The father will cover all the sharp objects and secure all the small objects. Cover the glass
windows and doors. The mother needs to stack on the medical kits since earthquakes cause a
lot of injuries and scratches. The Go bags are always a necessity. The son should know
techniques on what to do in earthquakes and secure his sister immediately during an
earthquake. The sister must need to remain call and contact emergency hotlines.

Just like the flood disaster house map, the exit should be at the right side, same evacuation
centers and hotlines adding the Cubao, quezon city disaster risk reduction and management
office. The evacuation sites for earthquakes is the same for every disaster plan but do not go
there when the after shock is yet to come.

Documentation: The son secures all the parts of the house hold, windows, glass doors, securing
and removing small objects from hight places or shelves. Also, the family discussed the dos and
donts in an earthquake like how to duck cover and hold. The family knows the drills now what
to do in an earthquake.
