Title TOTAL TECHNICAL CONTROL OF IETS

Opera ng an IETS really need an experienced and competent person for its daily opera on.
Dealing with the ac vated sludge from the biological process and control of the physical &
chemical process requires specific knowledge based to conform to the regula on.
This training divided main component of opera ng the IETS into 3 categories which are:
1. Controlling the ac vated sludge using specific control parameters such as F/M ra o,
SVI, SOUR, and sludge management; involving MLSS and MLVSS value for technical
calcula on.
2. Hydraulic control specifically on the reten on me for suitable treatment reac on and
iden fying the exis ng unit process and unit opera on capacity; regardless BP or PCP
plant.
3. Common problem which focusing on bulking issue to the biological plant which related
to the design, opera on, equipment failure, and nutrient dosing.

This 3-day training will focus on the above which related to the scien fic formula on and
technical calcula on, impact to the environment, and methodologies to handle upset related
issues.

At the end of this 3-day program, par cipants will be able to:

• Use and manage the value of MLSS and MLVSS.

• Comprehend the knowledge in the IETS daily opera on
• Use and manage the HRT based on different unit process and unit opera on.
• Iden fy the IETS hydraulic capacity against the received influent.
• Iden fy the causes and types of bulking.
• Perform preven on methodologies on bulking issue.
• Iden fy an accurate nutrient dosing system.
• Perform nutrient technical calcula on in opera on.

Maizan Aza is a PSMB Cer fied Trainer focusing on Industrial Effluent Treatment System (IETS).
He has over 19 years of experience in IETS and a CePIETSO (Cer fied Environmental Professional
for Industrial Effluent Treatment System) for both biological process (BP) and Physical &
Chemical Process (PCP). He is also a PPV (Personel Penilaian & Verifikasi) with JPK (Jabatan
Pembangunan Kemahiran) and listed in the DPIN (Direktori Pakar Industri Negara) for IETS field.

He completed his Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering with UNITEN on 2001 and
completed the final cer fica on in IETS with JPK for Malaysian Skills Advanced Diploma in IETS
Specializa on. His training focuses on the IETS opera on, supervision, op miza on, and
specializa on based on the requirement of EQA1974, IER2009, and the JPK NOSS (Na onal
Occupa onal Skill Standard).

His interest in IETS makes him to share the knowledge (explicit) and experience (tacit) with F&B
companies such as Cocoaland, Ro boy, Kings Confec onery, Pak Hailam Kopi am, Fuji Bakery,
Old Town, Paparich, Fusipim, and many more.
