IN-SERVICE TRAINING – DAY 4

It was the 18th day of March when the 4th day of

In-service Training of Matulatula Elementary
teachers was conducted in Matulatula Elementary
School. The assigned officer of the day was Mrs.
Ligaya Mayo, Grade V teacher.
The training started with a prayer led by Ms. Rizza
Lluvia, Grade IV teacher. It was followed by a
Makabayan song and a food for thought from Ms.
Gladys Abanador, Grade III teacher. Mrs. Riza
Hernandez, Grade III teacher, conducted an
energizer to motivate the participants in the
training. Then, a short recap was narrated by Ms.
Gladys Abanador.

Before opening the package for the day, Mrs. Ligaya

Mayo, the officer of the day, formally introduced the
assigned speaker, Mrs. Roselyn Espina. Her topic was
about Module 24, Develop a Personal Professional
Improvement Plan Based on Reflection of One’s
Practice and On-going Professional Learning. In this
module, we focused on the Professional Links with
Colleagues. The given indicator was to participate in
professional networks to share knowledge and to
enhance practice.

Teacher Roselyn, clearly discussed about the

Performance Commitment and Review Form
Development Plan and Professional Learning. She
also illustrated varied examples and scenarios that
portray the key concepts of this module.
To engage the participants with the package, the speaker conducted an individual activity for self-reflection and
development plan. Teacher Gay, Teacher Rizza, Teacher Nina, and Teacher Kelly shared their reflections.
A group activity about Teacher’s reflection on her strengths and priorities for improvement followed. One
member from each group discussed the collaborative output of the group.

The tips that can help teachers identify strategies and activities for professional improvement were also
emphasized by the speaker. She also cited specific examples for each strategy that helped us clearly understand
the given tips. It was indeed a fruitful discussion for we were able to reflect on our own performance and come
up with the effective ways on how to enrich our strengths and improve on our weaknesses as educators.

The afternoon session was for Planning/Scheduling for the conduct of a Demonstration Teaching via LAC.
Sir Rex Ramirez, School Head, distributed the schedule assigned to each teacher for their demo-teaching.
