CHAPTER 1

1.1 Abstract

Guidelines for the students:

Guidelines: How to write an Abstract?

Abstracts are important as they set the stage for your research. It is like a short sales pitch.
Therefore, they need to be short, precise and hit the nail right at the top.
In one sentence, you need to explain the importance of your topic.
Then you should establish the research gap, which is followed by your research topic/question.
You should explain your methodology, data collection, your most important findings (maybe
your practical implications) and your theoretical contributions.
Abstracts are usually written after you finish writing your dissertation. Abstracts are usually
strictly word counted! Short, but effective is the secret.
Follow the requirements for the abstract and remember to include everything that is asked.
1.2 OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

1. To XXXXX

2. To XXXXX

3. To XXXXX

4. To XXXXX

5. To XXXXX

Guidelines for the students:

 Objectives should not be more than five

 Objectives must be precise, one objective in sentence

 Objective must direct the study in right path

 Objective must identify the variables under study.

1.3 SCOPE OF THE STUDY

Guidelines for the students:

In this section you will tell what to be included and excluded from your study.

Example: In the proposal study I will only investigate the effect of plastic content on the
modules of elasticity of steel…..And then explanation should be written.

Half page to 1 page

1.4 NEED OF THE STUDY

Guidelines for the students:

Here specify, what is exactly the need? So, you have chosen this

topic. Why there is a need to study this selected topic?

Discuss Importance of the study along with the Research

gaps Half page to 1 page

1.5 LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY

1. XXXXX

2. XXXXX

3. XXXXX

4. XXXXX

5. XXXXX

Guidelines for the students:

The limitations of the study are those characteristics of design or methodology that
impacted or influenced the interpretation of the findings from your research.

They are the constraints on Generalizability, applications to practice, and/or utility of

findings that are the result of the ways in which you initially chose to design the study
and/or the method used to establish internal and external validity.

Half page to 1 page

5) Sample Design

6) Statistical technique

Note – this chapter must include all the above points related to your topic. Please do not
write the definitions and theoretical concepts
CHAPTER 4: THEORETICAL CONCEPTS

4.1 Review of Related Literature

(Minimum 5 reviews based on the topic related to the research must be included here.
