Business Plan

Chapter 1

Executive Summary

1.1 Introduction

A lot of things including business industries have changed and affected since the pandemic arouse in
countries. Even though there are business that have been fallen down its operations, there are still
many business that have been opened in order for the businessmen or entrepreneur to survive and
continue again. That is why we, as a future and aspiring entrepreneur are also here to start making and
operating our own business venture for us to help other provide their necessities, for us to help
ourselves be into a situation where we could apply it for the following stages of our lives. We are here to
try some things, learn, and pass those learning we will go to have in the future by creating a business
that is in line with our interest, considering the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats, and its
environments as well.

1.2 The Enterprise

“School Goodies in a Box”

merchandising business will be established to sell a

whole set of varieties of school supplies that are basic need of students, placed in a box. The ‘School
Goodies in a Box’ took its name to the main packaging of the products, which is school supplies implying
to the ‘School Goodies’, meaning, the business concern is all about school supplies. But we do not only
sell the package deal but we also sell different items that is also used in school. The business owner
promises the target markets for updated proposal of their products.
1.3 About the Business Owner

‘School Goodies in a box’ business was created by a business owner who is Jewel Anne F. Ruiz, a
seventeen year old student. Grade 12 student form Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics
strand in Rizal Senior High School. The business owner will stand alone do everything from decision
making, improvement to the development of business she will be going to create and will consult to her
guardians or parents for support and approval. The capital of the business will also be coming from her
parents for the start-up progress of ‘School Goodies in a Box’ business.

The business owner got their inspiration to put up the merchandise store from people who are not
able to go out and buy the things they usually needs in school (online school or modules), as a support
for the convenience of the costumers. The business will be selling a set of school supplies in a box
consisting of; 1 pc twin highlighter (pink and blue), 1 pc correction tape, 1 pc permanent marker, 1 pc
scissor, 1 pc mini stapler and 1 pc mini notebook. Springleaf notebook and Planner shall be available too.
The business will be offering free delivery within Rizal, Nueva Ecija only.

The business owners put up this idea of this business as they clearly observe the following
considerations:

 This business is not as the common business that establishes a stand place for their
market but rather a business that is only need to canvas their target costumers what kind
of vegetables they want to have, that is then ready for delivering of their ordered goods.
 The products that they will buy from a wholesaler will be boxed a per the packaging of
the main product and shall be delivered upon order.
 Products will be sold according only on how many items will be delivered to a specific
costumer.

1.4 Objectives

The general objective of this business is to provide varieties of school supplies that are basic need of
students and ‘School Goodies in a Box’ will serve as the way for the costumer to choose freely from our
available products they want to avail. Moreover, this business aims to enhance and improve the quality
of operating the enterprise, its different strategies, as well as the values that they perform to their
costumers-considering also the goal of growing and expanding the business in the future.

1.5 Target Market

Students and/or office workers or anyone who needs high quality school supplies in just one click. The
business location will be situated preferably at Rizal, Nueva Ecija and will not be having a physical store,
instead, costumers can avail through their social media in Facebook and Twitter.

The business owner will be buying from a wholesaler B&E in Shopee who sells high quality product
for a lower wholesale price. All of the products will be readily available for the costumers to buy.
The owner of the business is truly fond on complete basic needs and supplies of a student. That’s
why, herself want to provide such comfortability to her costumers in buying what they need. The
business will go to pave the way for the owners to think of starting a business with joy and positivity.
‘Goodies in a Box’ will be start operating in Rizal, Nueva Ecija, with a start-up capital of ₱7,810.00. The
business owners will be the one who will manage the operation- from buying goods, packaging, to
selling them into their costumers.

CHAPTER 2

MARKET ASPECT

In this section, shows the marketing aspects and plans to maintain the attractiveness of the

business towards their target market.

2.1 Product

The proposed business is putting up selling the main product of the business “School

Goodies in a Box” consisting of; ; 1 pc twin highlighter (pink and blue), 1 pc correction tape,

1 pc permanent marker, 1 pc scissor, 1 pc mini stapler and 1 pc mini notebook. With

standalone product; Springleaf notebook and Planner. Also, to introduce the market to let the

people chill and wait for what they need after they order from the shop. Aside from that, it

may reduce the risk of being exposed to the COVID-19 when they go out.
2.2 Promotional Activity

The figure 2 shows the social media advertisements that will be post in Facebook by the page named

SCHOOL GOODIES IN A BOX. Furthermore, it is where the products queries can be answered, through

facebook messenger . And it is very important to make social media advertisements to easily seen by the

customers.

2.3 Mission and Vision statement

Mission

To sell a high quality school supplies, minimize profitability, and maintain the safety of future

costumers.

To innovate, to lead, to enhance, and to provide best-value, best-quality and affordable products to

the customers.

Vision
To become one of the known online seller in RIZAL, NUEVA ECIJA, and to expand the

coverage of business.

We strive to be a caring and well-managed organization for the customers and a responsible

business owner.

CHAPTER III

PRODUCT/SERVICE PLAN

2.4 Purpose of the Product or Service

The purpose of this product is to provide the customers a good essential supplies for studying. Also, the

increasing rate is alarming and almost every target costumers are not able to go out, the business is perfect

for them and should be in demand as for it is more convenient.

2.5 Production Process

• The business owners of "School Goodies in a Box" will create a list for those customers so they can

choose.

• Second, after completing the list to be posted on social media and supposedly where the costumers will

order.

• Third, the business owners will safely pack the package set that if offered. With proper disinfecting.

• Fourth, the business owners will safely deliver the items that is ordered. Of course still implementing

proper health protocols and disinfecting

•Lastly, the business owners will be taking orders for the next day.

2.6 Utilities, Location and Layout


There will be no physical store as per the safety of the business owners’ family. The business is located

and in coverage at Rizal, Nueva Ecija. The gas that will use for delivering the product is the transport

with ₱1000.00 allotment.

2.7 Production Schedule

The delivery of the “School Goodies in a Box" product is available at any hour everyday upon ordering.

CHAPTER IV

MARKET PLAN

This part was including our business strategies, the target market, value proposition of our

products that may increase the merchandising business sale.

2.8 Market Analysis

This includes the process of how you divide the total market into smaller groups seeking similar

needs and wants (market segmentation) and the characteristic analysis of the business in relation to

internal and external factors. (SWOT Analysis)

who needs or wants to purchase in the business may contact the owner of the merchandising business, so

that it will deliver their orders to their location around Rizal, Nueva Ecija only. With that, their daily

needs were fulfilling and satisfied.

2.9 SWOT ANALYSIS

Is a strategic planning technique used to help a person or organization identify strengths,

weaknesses, opportunities, and threats related to business competition or project planning? It also helps

you to build on what you do well, to address what you're lacking, to minimize risks, and to take the

greatest possible advantage of chances for success.

3.1 Target Market

The primary target are students and/or office workers or anyone who needs high quality school
supplies in just one click. The business location will be situated preferably at Rizal, Nueva Ecija and will
not be having a physical store, instead, costumers can avail through their social media in Facebook and

3.2 Marketing and sales strategies

This is how you will reach your target audience, while a sales strategy is how you will convert

them to customers. A marketing strategy sets the direction for how you will find and engage with

prospective customers so you can promote your core message and build interest in the brand (Brian,

2019).

"School Goodies in a Box" merchandising business offer sales canvassing strategy. This sales

technique can be done over the phone or in person, and it typically involves making contact with

prospective or primary customers. Along with this, the costumer's orders will deliver to their location

around Rizal, Nueva Ecija only.

3.3 Product/ Service characteristics

These are some characteristics of our merchandising business that our costumers should buy from

us not for the other similar business.

• The products I sell are varieties of school supplies that are basic need of students, placed in a box.

• The features and benefits of what I’m selling are; The products that are in my box is in good

shape and working properly. The benefits are they are affordable and in good quality items in just

one box and free shipping in the scope of Rizal, Nueva Ecija.

• Costumers will by from me because my products quality is guaranteed and shall be immediately

delivered once ordered. Surely they will recommend my product to their friends.

3.4 Pricing policy

Price: it is the quantity of payment or compensation given by one party to another in return for goods or

services.

The price of a product may be seen as a financial expression of the value of that product

Pricing policy: it is the policy of a company or business that guides the price setting of its good and

services that offered for sale.


We all know that Filipinos are generally price conscious. So that, we tend to setting price that the

business will take into account the price at which it could acquire the goods, the merchandising cost,

competition, market condition, and quality of the product.

3.5 Sales projection

All of the products that we sell everyday are prepared after the receiving from the merchandiser.

Products are available until reproduction of stocks.
