What Is Boxing Day

Boxing Day has nothing to do with the sport of boxing The
simplest answer would be that Christmas is too short so people
have added on another holiday called Boxing Day Boxing Day is
on the 26th of December and is a national bank holiday or public
holiday in the United Kingdom Canada Australia New Zealand
and Ireland It has been celebrated by spending time with family
and friends and eating all the leftovers from Christmas Day The

What Do People Do on Boxing Day


Boxing Day has been an important day for sporting events
Traditionally fox hunting was a popular sport with the upper
class It was a traditional part of Boxing Day until 2004 when the
ban on fox hunting put an end to the hunt in its traditional form
Hunters still gather dressed resplendently in red hunting coats to
the sound of the hunting horn But since it is now forbidden to
chase foxes with dogs a compromise has been reached and the

when the British show their eccentricity by taking part in all kinds
of silly activities These include unusual traditions such as

Another sport to emerge in recent years is shopping Sadly
what was once a day of relaxation and family time has become the
