Allied Health Practitioner – Enhanced Services


Reporting to: Regional Employment Manager
Supervisory Duties: Nil

Position Objective
Provide high quality evidence-based assessment, diagnosis, formulation, treatment and prevention of mental
health disorders, through one on one and group-based counselling of participants in Enhanced Services
Provide advice and support to TtW team members and deliver dual case management to young people in this
service.
Job Responsibilities
 Responsible for providing a counselling services for Enhanced Services Participants with mental health
disorders or severe personal issues.
 Supports the development, implementation and review of individual and group programs which achieve
positive outcomes for Enhanced Service participants.
 Provide assessment and therapy to individuals and groups with a focus on cognitive behavioural therapy
models, to support Participants to stabilise and move towards education or employment readiness
 Recommend referral of Enhanced Services participants to more specialised health and personal support,
as required, and support participants to positively engage in these services.
 Engage and work closely with Employment Coaches, to ensure a consistent service and goals are
developed for each Participant. Undertake Dual Case Management models for complex participants.
Support Employment Coaches with Participants in crisis, as required.
 Complete accurate, timely and high-quality case notes, assessments and advocacy letters, and accurately
record time with each participant to facilitate Employment Fund draw downs. Comply with all funding body
requirements for Professional Service delivery.
 Providing supervision, support and mentoring to designated students as required.
 Providing information and resources to staff regarding appropriate services available to participants in the
Region and contribute to the Customer Online Portal.
 Support Enhanced Services staff to increase their knowledge and skill base on barriers to employment
(such as mental health, drug and alcohol and domestic violence).
 Ensure the delivery of the service and interactions with stakeholders is positive, professional, and in line
with Workskil Australia Values, Code of Conduct, policies and procedures.
 Adhere to the Integrated Management System and assist with continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience


 Qualifications – A Bachelor Degree or higher qualification in Behavioural Sciences, Psychology, Social
Work, Mental Health Counselling.
 Qualifications – Social Workers must be registered with the Australian Association of Social Workers
(AASW) (SA staff only).
 Skills – Ability to use the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and ability to type (minimum
30 words per minute).
 Skills – Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
 Experience - Competence in the application of a wide range of psychological assessment and therapeutic
interventions to consumers with complex needs.

 Experience - Experience in providing individual therapy, group therapy and case management.
 Skills - Ability to critically analyse or evaluate issues related to psychological care in a manner which can be
applied to quality activities, service evaluation or research.
 Skills - Ability to write professional and accurate reports, case notes and advocacy letters
 Experience - Experience in group facilitation and training.
 Experience - Experience working effectively with a culturally diverse range of people

Desirable Requirements

 Qualification – Certificate IV in Career Development or Employment Services.


 Experience – Delivering group based psychosocial programs.
 Experience – Experience in the employment services industry.

Employment Conditions
 Contract of Employment as per Workskil Australia’s usual terms and conditions.
 Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Australian Federal Police Clearance, Bankruptcy and Disqualified
Director Checks, Working with Children Check (for relevant State of Operation) and other checks as required.
 Must maintain a current driver’s licence and ongoing willingness to undertake intrastate/interstate travel as
required.
 Comply with Workskil Australia’s Code of Conduct, Integrated Management System and Policies.
 Must not have been terminated from a previous position because of conduct relation to employment services
provided to the Commonwealth.
 Must not have had your access to the IT Systems of the Department of Education, Skills and Employment
terminated.
 Full vaccination against COVID-19, as defined by the Australian Government or a valid Australian
Immunisation Medical Exemption.
