Time: 50 minutes
Aim: to warm SS up
Timing: 6 minutes
Procedure: Teacher plays on the phone the Finger Family song. Ss. Get the
lyrics and try to sing along.
Activity 2: LEAD-IN
Timing: 3 minutes
Procedure: teacher asks Ss to name different family members that they know in
English, Ss answer the question orally.
Timing: 6 minutes
Procedure: Teacher announces the topic and writes the title on the board:
” My grandfather is cool!”
Teacher explains the title and what they are going to discuss this hour and writes
on the board the new vocabulary. Ss copy the words in their copy-books. The
Ss. who finish copying from the board first are asked to read out loud the new
words and repeat the translation , too.
Timing: 10 minutes
Procedure: Teacher asks Ss to open the textbooks at page 8 / ex. 1 and assigns
the roles for the Ss to read. Afetr the Ss finish reading T. asks if there are any
words that they did not understand and explains them the words. Teacher then
asks qoustions about the characters from exercise 1. E. g. ”What is Kevin„s
father wearing? What colour is his suit? What is David s mother wearing? How
is Tudor„s grandfather? Ss. answer the T questions and are helped by her in the
process.
Activity 5: REINFORCEMENT
Timing: 10 minutes
Procedure: Teacher shows the Ss some flash cards with pictures of different
family members and asks them to name who they are. After the Ss identify the
members on the flash cards they are each given one flash card with an empty
box next to it. Every child has to colour the picture and to write the name of the
family member that is represented on his/her flash card. When they finish the
task are asked to come in front of the class to present and describe the character
they have received on their card.
Activity 6: FEED-BACK
Timing: 5 minutes
Interaction: S-S
Procedure: The teacher tells Ss. to look at exercise 3/pg. 9 and in pairs to say
what is the name of the described character.
To assign homework
Interaction: T-Ss
Procedure: Teacher appreciates Ss activity based on their answers and character
presentations and the Ss with the best answers get a smiley faceon their copy
books.. Ss. are offered a worksheet for homework, to be completed and
presented the following class.
