How to create a new project

1. **Launch AutoCAD Electrical:**

- Open AutoCAD Electrical on your computer.

2. **Select a Template:**

- When you start a new project, you typically begin with a template. AutoCAD
Electrical provides several templates for different electrical standards. You can choose
a template based on your project requirements.
- Go to the "New" or "Open" option on the menu, and then select a suitable template.
3. **Set Project Properties:**

- After selecting a template, you may need to set project properties. This includes
information such as project name, project location, and drawing settings.
- Look for options like "Project Manager" or "Project Properties" to access and modify
these settings.

4. **Define Project Units:**

 - Type “UN” in command line
Specify the units for your project, such as inches or millimeters. This is important for
accurate measurements in your electrical drawings.

5. **Create a Project Folder:**

- It's a good practice to create a dedicated folder for your project. This folder will store
all project-related files, including drawings, reports, and other documents.
- Choose a location for your project folder and set it up accordingly.
6. **Access Project Manager:**
- AutoCAD Electrical has a Project Manager tool that helps you organize your project
files. You can find this tool in the ribbon or menu bar.

- Open the Project Manager and use it to navigate through the project structure.
7. **Add Drawings:**
- Within the Project Manager, you can add new drawings to your project. Right-click
on the "Drawings" node( )and select "New Drawing" or a similar option.

- Specify the drawing name and other relevant information.

8. **Save and Begin Work:**

- Once you've set up the project and added drawings, save your work. Save your
drawings and the project file regularly as you work on your electrical design.
