These Heart Cakes are a small version of the heart cakes in my art installation/
crocheted bakery, Sucre Fleuf! They make adorable wall hangings, table
decorations, and gifts for your favorite people. You'll especially have a lot of fun
personalizing them with different toppings and messages.

I couldn't decide which frosting designs to include or what my sample cake would
look like. There are so many possibilities! I kept changing my mind. So, I included a
few different options. This will be less like a pattern you follow to a tee and more
like a collection of pieces that you can add or not add. Play around, experiment,
and create your own delicious dessert! xoxo,

LETTERiNG
There isn't really a pattern for creating the
lettering on my cakes. I use segments of
long chains in LC. Depending on the word, I
might use different segments of chains per
letter or half a word or the whole word. Just
go with your gut and what looks good to you.
I start a new chain within the same cursive
word if I feel like there is too much bulk to
keep using the same chain and I need to
start the next letter in a different spot.

Temporarily lay out your word(s) with chains

and pins and then secure the chains in place
with FabriTac very carefully. FabriTac dries
quickly, and it doesn't squish down any of
the chains the way sewing might. But you
can decide the best way for you.

After the FabriTrac is completely dry,

carefully tuck the all the yarn tails under the
crochet cake layer with a tapestry needle.

Enjoy! I can't wait to see all your cakes!
