The equipment shall be furnished, installed and tested in accordance with this specification and applicable Standards. 1) Paging system 2) Radio system 3) Telephone system CODES AND STANDARDS Communication equipment shall conform to the Standards of the country of origin. DOCUMENTS All documents and drawings shall be written in English and drawing sizes shall be of A-series, namely AO, Al, A2, A3 and Ad. The metric system shall be used as the unit of measurement. Following documents shall be submitted as a minimum. - Specification and catalogues = Outline dimension drawing of equipment with weight - Terminal board drawing including dimensions of terminals and location - - Data sheet(s) - Surface preparation and painting specification 46 = Schematic diagram of control wiring including terminal connection diagrams - Foundation drawings including anchor plan - Name plate drawing(s) - Test procedures of witnessed test at shop - Test reports - Installation and storage manual - Maintenance manual - Parts list ~ Special tool list, if necessary - Recommended spare parts list -— Shipping documents Note) Manuals shall be submitted both in English, and in Spanish. Wind speed : Max. annual mean 52 Km/h Earthquake load : Zone 3 of UBC, 1985 Edition 5.1 PAGING SYSTEM DESIGN REQUIREMENTS The paging system shall provide handset station & speaker paging communications required for the operation of Methanol plant. Personnel shall be able to access the paging line from a handset station located in the plant areas for the communication with another station(s). Handsets and speakers shall be provided and installed in plant areas. The speaker amplifiers shall be sized to provide the sufficient output power to the speaker load Equipment to be provided shall consist of, but not be Limited to, the following major items: - Handset Stations - Outdoor Speakers - Mounting Brackets - Speaker Amplifiers = Microphones - Indoor Speakers - Line Balancer EQUIPMENT SPECIFICATIONS General All materials shall be standard items designed and constructed for reliable service and rated for continuous duty. lectronic devices shall be solid-state and modular. Equipment shall be mounted in enclosures that shall provide physical protection and electro-magnetic shielding. 5.2.6 Microphones Gooseneck type microphones shall be low noise, dynamic omnidirectional, with a wide frequency response and high output. Microphones shall be equipped with a desk top stand and a push-to-talk switch. Outdoor Speakers Outdoor speakers shall be reflex horns. The speakers shall be designed to provide high speech intelligibility under adverse noise conditions. Construction shall include weatherproof horns with airtight, weatherproof and/or explosion proof drivers. The materials and finish shall provide maximum immunity from wind, rain, humidity salty air and other destructive elements. Mounting Brackets Outdoor speakers shall be provided with a mounting bracket. ‘The mounting bracket shall permit alignment of the unit. Amplifiers Amplifier shall have a sufficient output power to drive a speaker. Distortion, input impedance, frequency response etc. will be manufacturer standard Handset Stations Handset stations shall be industrial quality common- talking stations of a modular design. These stations shall be housed in a dust-tight enclosures. Explosion~ proof type handset stations shall be provided for hazardous areas. Portable Radio Portable radio shall be weatherproof and suitable for hazardous area, It will have the output of 5 watts with 140 MHz to 170 MHz frequency band. Battery unit shall be easily detachable and replaceable. Portable radio shall have a synthesizer unit, that is, final frequency adjustment can be done at site. 6 -
