INTRODUCTION
Electro-pneumatic circuits combine electrical and pneumatic components to create
a control system that operates using both electricity and compressed air. But this
time, we will talk about sensors that are a fundamental part of automation in the
industry. Inductive and capacitive sensors emerge as essential components for
detecting and monitoring key elements in diverse industrial environments. These
devices, equipped with advanced technology, play a crucial role by providing the
ability to identify and react to the presence of specific materials. Inductive sensors,
renowned for their capability to detect metallic materials, have become
indispensable allies in industrial automation.

However, capacitive sensors further expand the detection possibilities by offering

the ability to identify various types of materials, even when hidden behind non-
metallic objects.

This is a glimpse of what we have developed on this occasion.

THEORICAL FRAME
A sensor is a device that receives a stimulus from its environment and translates
the received information. This information is typically converted into an electrical
impulse, which is later processed by a series of circuits that generate an action in
an apparatus, system, or machine. Sensors provide us with a high degree of
security that allows us to ensure the complete development of the ongoing
process.

Inductive Sensor:
This type of sensor is designed to work by generating a magnetic field and
detecting the current losses from this field caused by the introduction of ferrous
detection objects. The sensor consists of a coil with a ferrite core, an oscillator, a
signal trigger level sensor, and an output circuit.

It operates when a metallic object approaches, hysteresis currents are induced in

the object, resulting in energy loss and reduced oscillation amplitude. The sensor
circuit then recognizes a specific change in amplitude and generates a signal that
toggles the solid-state output or the on-off position.

Capacitive Sensor:
This sensor has the advantage of being able to detect both metallic and non-
metallic objects by measuring the change in capacitance, which depends on the
dielectric constant of the material being detected, its mass, size, and distance to
the sensitive surface of the detector.

It functions when a conductive object approaches the active face of the detector,
acting like a capacitor. The change in capacitance is significant over a long
distance. If a non-conductive object approaches, only a small change in the
dielectric constant occurs, and the increase in capacitance is minimal compared to
conductive materials.

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, as previously mentioned, sensors play a crucial role in the industrial
field, as they can streamline various processes. It's remarkable how they offer
reliability in automation processes, eliminating the need for manual buttons that
might slow down industrial operations. Through our practical experience, we came
to realize how sensors can streamline any process and even how we can
simultaneously utilize both types, forming circuits through pneumatics and sensors.
The potential of sensors to simplify industrial processes is truly astounding and
offers a glimpse into the future of efficient and integrated automation.
