ACTIVITY (Painting Conveys A Thousand Words)

Find one famous painting which depicts how technology reveals nature and our role
in it as human. No two students should use the same painting; thus, the first one to comment on the
painting’s name on our Google classroom will have the painting. Make sure you understand first the
message of the painting itself and, with its message, reflect as to how the painting would explain how
technology would reveal nature. Include in your discussion the necessary details of the painting and then
proceed with the discussion. You will have to take a video of yourself doing the discussion. Send your
video file to google classroom.
(During our next online meeting I will pick 5 students to present the painting and discuss so that everyone
could also hear and reflect on some of the submitted paintings.) During your presentation, be guided by
the following criteria.
Content & Relevance ------- 35%
Interpretation -------- 35%
Delivery -------- 30%

ANALYSIS (Say it through Essay)
Let us examine the world we live in from these two authors on their
articles on Machine Ethics: The Robot’s Dilemma. Then, create reflective essays with at least 300 words
each by following the guide questions below:
1. How do you define a robot?
2. What are the 3 Laws of Robotics? Would these protect us from them and vice versa?
3. Is it the right time already to discuss giving rights to robots?

ABSTRACTION (Policies to Protect Us)

Did you experience having your privacy violated? Were you bullied online? Was your social media
account hacked once?
Let us discuss the local government policies in the Philippines that protect us from the threats of
technology. We will focus on digital technology; however, policies against the danger of technology are
not only limited to this. You may have already identified some of them in the previous activity.
The internet was first introduced in the Philippines in 1994. Since then, an exponential increase in
the number of Filipinos have been connected to it. In the year 2016, about 44.47 million Filipinos who are
online. Since then, many local policies about the use of digital technology have been implemented to
protect us from any threats that it may pose.

policy in the Philippines will be violated. (A copy of the script is also included) You cannot make a video
