1 Uretero-Renoscopes
Uretero-Renoscopy
The uretero-renoscope (URS) is used to display the urinary tract and the kidney but also for removal of ureteric
and renal stones.
In order to insert the URS smoothly the distal tip is realized with an atraumatic shape and offers at the same time
an ideal view to the ureter and the ureteric orifice. There is no need of camera re-focusing and no loss of picture
while the URS is bended due to the special ocular construction.
This high-quality URS with semi-rigid sheath is fully autoclavable and meets all requirements of a safe sterilization as
well as a long life-time.

1 Percutaneous Nephroscopes
Nephroscopy
Percutaneous nephroscopy is one of the established techniques to address challenging conditions of the kidney.
The main indication is the removal of kidney stones, especially stones which may get stuck in the renal pelvis or
that are too big in size for the urethra.
LUT Nephroscopes convince through their brilliant image resolution achieved by a contrast enhanced image
bundle and a homogenous illumination. Due to optimized proportions between inner and outer diameter the
introduction of instruments or the removal of bigger stones can be handled fast and safe; thanks to an optimal
positioned side access also with flexible instruments. An integrated irrigation sheath guarantees a high flow to
achieve stone-free results. The lightweight construction and the ergonomic design of the nephroscope make the
whole procedure convenient for the surgeon.
LUT offers a safe and reliable nephroscope product range. It consists of a Mini-Nephroscope in 13.5 Fr., recom-
mended also for pediatric procedures and a 19 Fr. Nephroscope. Suitable sheaths as well as instruments such as
grasping forceps, micro scissors, threefold grasper and baskets for sterilization and storage are also available.

1 Ultra-Mini Nephroscope

Ultra-Mini PCNL (UMP)

If interventional removal of renal calculi is needed there are several treatment options available. Treatment options
include Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL), the Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery (RIRS) and the
Percutaneous Stone Treatment (PCNL). When choosing an appropriate treatment, a number of circumstances come
into play including the number, size, location and composition of the stone(s).
UMP is an operation technique developed by Dr. Janak Desai. When conventional therapies reach their limits, UMP
expands the treatment range for percutaneous removal of kidney stones. By using an even smaller nephroscope,
the UMP technique can remove inaccessible stones, located in the complex system of the lower renal calices. The
Ultra-Mini Nephroscope will be inserted through a minor incision in the skin. A laser can be used to fragment the
kidney stone and remove the stone material - a technique that is very gentle for the patient due to its extremely
small diameter.

2 Monopolar Resectoscopes
Resectoscopy
In the medical community, transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) is often referred to as the gold standard
of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) treatment. During this standard procedure, the doctor inserts a resectoscope
through the urethra into the bladder; resection of the prostate tissue is performed under sight via an electrode loop
or a laser. LUT resectoscopy working units allow precise and safe guidance of the electrodes.
Our recommended LUT endoscopes in 2.9 mm / 12° or 4.0 mm / 30° offer best image conditions. Additional electrodes
in different sizes and designs, obturators, sheaths as well as cameras, light sources and HF generators complete the
product range of the LUT HF resectoscopy.

Laser Resectoscopy
In search of a better treatment of prostate patients, a gentle and effective resection of the prostate was developed
thanks to the latest laser technology. Today, laser resectoscopy applies for an excellent alternative to conventional
HF-resection. The laser radiation is transported via a glass fiber probe from the laser unit to the tip of the resecto-
scope and vaporizes the prostate tissue in an accurate and controlled fashion.
The LUT laser resectoscope working unit, passive acting, guides the glass fiber probe safe and accurate. The probe
can be easily adjusted by a push button on the side of the working unit. Our recommended LUT endoscope in 4.0 mm /
30° offers best image conditions. A rotatable continuous flow sheath completes the set.

2 Laser Cystoscopes
Laser Cystoscopy
Laser technology is nowadays also employed for cystoscopy. With the LUT continuous-flow laser cystoscope-urethro-
scope sheath an instrument for use in the lower urinary tract was developed. The inner sheath has a generous,
integrated working channel and therefore guides instruments as well as the glass fiber probe for laser treatment
safely to the tip of the sheath. The necessary cooling effect for the probe as well as a clear view during operation is
provided by a continuous flow system which offers steady irrigation conditions.
The appropriate LUT endoscope in 4.0 mm / 30° offers best image condition without distortions. A visual obturator
for the introduction of the cystoscope under sight completes the set.

2 Optical Stone Punch
Punch Lithotripsy
Today, stones in the urinary bladder can mostly be treated successfully by endoscopy. With the optical stone punch
of LUT very hard stones are broken mechanically under sight.
Operating the hand piece, the inner sheath is drawn backwards and the stone is fixed. Drawing further the stone
is broken. If a sheath with central stop cock is used the punched stone fragments can be rinsed immediately. The
working element exerts high force on the stone and is therefore especially suitable for hard stones. The adequate
LUT endoscopes in 4.0 mm /30° provide optimal sight and excellent pictures for this purpose.

Hysteroscopy is an endoscopic examination method for observing the uterus. Through the cervix, a hysteroscope is
introduced in the cavity of the uterus and allows a transvaginal observation of the inner face of the uterus. If
pathological findings are detectable, instruments can be inserted via the working channel of the hysteroscopy

Appendicitis is the inflammation of the worm-shaped hollow pouch attached to the cecum. Through its anatomy, it
offers an ideal culture medium for foreign objects, which causes the development of bacterial infections.

Light Sources
The LUT product range eVision offers a high luminance with low temperature development via a new LED light
source eVision aura. The light intensity is dimmable from zero to 100 percent and can be controlled via the camera
head. No bulb exchange necessary. The light source is durable, energy-efficient and easy in
operation.
In addition to these light sources, we also offer different Xenon light options. As these are specially designed and
built for endoscopic applications, you get the light exactly where it is needed: Maximum of light efficiency for
highest demands.
