The hare and the tortoise 龟兔赛

In the forest, there is a hare. He runs very fast. Every day he runs from one side of
the forest to the other. One day, he sees a tortoise crawling slowly on the road.

He says to the tortoise: “Hi, Mr. Tortoise, let’s have a race.”

The tortoise says: “ OK, I will race you, and I’m sure I will beat you!”

The hare laughs and says: “ You must be joking! How about this: Can you see the big
tree over there? Who gets to the tree first wins the race!”

The tortoise agrees.

The race begins. The hare runs much faster than the tortoise. When the hare is near
the finish line, he looks back and can hardly see the tortoise. The hare says, “The
slow tortoise is very far behind. I can take my time and still win the race.” So he
stops to take a nap.

The tortoise crawls quite slowly, but he never stops. About an hour later, he passes
the hare. The hare is still sleeping. The tortoise keeps crawling and crawling. When
the hare wakes up, the tortoise is very close to the big tree. The hare runs to the tree
at once. But it is just too late, the tortoise is already standing under the tree when he
gets there!
