Bibs Summative – Temptation Calendar

1. Tempted to skip volleyball practice (‘Sering Sin’)

In this case, I used the temptation tactic to watch, which reads: “12 So, if you think you
are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! 13 No temptation[a] has overtaken you
except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be
tempted[b] beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted,[c] he will also
provide a way out so that you can endure it.” This bible verse acts as a form of
reassurance for us that Jesus won’t tempt us beyond our capability and that when we’re
tempted, Jesus will always lead us to the right path. In this case, I was tempted to skip
my volleyball practice, but Jesus let me to the right path, I pushed myself and didn’t let
my temptations get the better of me. That day I ended up attending volleyball practice
and finishing all my homework.
I also followed the Bible verse from Galatians 6:5, which reads: “For every man shall bear
his own burden.” From this bible verse, I got the notion that it emphasises that everyone
should be held responsible for their own decisions. In this case I took responsibility for
my decision, which was to join the volleyball team, by attending volleyball practice and I
also atoned for my decision to go to school by finishing up my schoolwork.

2. Not paying attention & Playing Honkai Star Rail in Chemistry Class (Serious sin)

In this case I could’ve used the temptation tactic to wear your saviour, which
reads: 12 The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of
darkness and put on the armour of light. 13 Let us behave decently, as in the daytime,
not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in
dissension and jealousy. 14 Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do
not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh. This bible verse elaborates the
importance of putting aside our own personal desires for the sake of doing what is right
according to the word of God. If I used this temptation tactic I would’ve put aside my
desires or at the least thought twice before I decided to play video games in chemistry
while Pak Okem was teaching. If I followed what this bible verse said, I would’ve thought
of a better time to play my games and pay attention to Pak Okem’s teaching.

In this case, I could’ve also used the temptation tactic to watch & pray, which reads:
This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your
name, 10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us
today our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our
debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. This bible
verse emphasizes the need to pray to Jesus so he provides us our needs and leads us
away from temptations. If I read this bible verse and prayed to Jesus to lead me away
from temptations I wouldn’t have been tempted to play games at times where I
shouldn’t have

3. Swore in mandarin to my friend who speaks in mandarin because she swore at me in

mandarin (Subtle sin)

In this case, I could’ve used the temptation tactic to wear your amour, which reads:
“13 Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may
be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm
then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of
righteousness in place.” The point of this bible verse is to encourage us to stand firm in
the midst of temptations and hold firmly onto what is right. If I followed this bible verse I
would’ve not been influenced to swear in mandarin by my friend who swore in
mandarin to me. Instead I would’ve stood my ground and refrain from saying
inappropriate words.
In this case, I could’ve used the temptation tactic to watch what you watch, which reads:
“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true,
and honourable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that
are excellent and worthy of praise.” This bible verse highlights the importance of keeping
our thoughts in check and it also highlights the importance of thinking positively. If I
followed this bible verse and fixed my way of thinking, I wouldn’t have thought of
swearing back to my friend because swearing is an act that isn’t honourable, right, nor
pure. Instead I would’ve thought twice before saying those things to my friend.
