I Corinthians 13:11-13

I Corinthians 13:11-13 (NLT)
11 When I was a child, I spoke and thought
and reasoned as a child. But when I grew
up, I put away childish things. 12 Now we see
things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections
in a mirror, but then we will see everything
with perfect clarity. All that I know now is
partial and incomplete, but then I will know
everything completely, just as God now
knows me completely.

13 Three things will last forever—faith,
hope, and love—and the greatest of these
is love.

1. NO GOD, NO HOPE
Ephesians 2:12-13 (NLT)
12 In
those days you were living apart from
Christ. You were excluded from citizenship
among the people of Israel, and you did not
know the covenant promises God had made to
them. You lived in this world without God and
without hope. 13 But now you have been united
with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from
God, but now you have been brought near to
him through the blood of Christ.

2. HOPE IS AN ANCHOR

anchor for our souls. It leads us through
the curtain into God’s inner
sanctuary. 20 Jesus has already gone in
there for us. He has become our eternal
High Priest in the order of Melchizedek.

1. Hope of Eternal Life
Titus 2:1-2
1 This letter is from Paul, a slave of God and an

apostle of Jesus Christ. I have been sent to

proclaim faith to those God has chosen and to
teach them to know the truth that shows them
how to live godly lives. 2 This truth gives them
confidence that they have eternal life, which
God—who does not lie—promised them before
the world began.
2. Hope of Eternal Inheritance
1 Peter 1:3-4
3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus

Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have

been born again, because God raised Jesus
Christ from the dead. Now we live with great
expectation, 4 and we have a priceless
inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in
heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond
the reach of change and decay.
3. Hope of His Presence
Deuteronomy 31:6
6Be strong and courageous. Do not be
afraid or terrified because of them, for
the LORD your God goes with you; he will
never leave you nor forsake you.”
4. Hope of His Protection
Psalm 27:5
5For he will conceal me there when
troubles come;
he will hide me in his sanctuary.
He will place me out of reach on a high
rock.

Philipians 4:19
19And this same God who takes care of me
will supply all your needs from his
glorious riches, which have been given to
us in Christ Jesus.
5. Hope of Answered Prayer
1 John 5:14-15 (AMP)
14 This is the [remarkable degree of] confidence
which we [as believers are entitled to] have before
Him: that if we ask anything according to His will,
[that is, consistent with His plan and purpose] He
hears us. 15 And if we know [for a fact, as indeed we
do] that He hears and listens to us in whatever
we ask, we [also] know [with settled and absolute
knowledge] that we have [granted to us] the
requests which we have asked from Him.
LIVING NOW AND BEYOND
(Parable of the Wheat and the Tare)
Matthew 13:24-30 (NLT)
24 Hereis another story Jesus told: “The
Kingdom of Heaven is like a farmer who
planted good seed in his field. 25 But that
night as the workers slept, his enemy
came and planted weeds among the
wheat, then slipped away. 26 When the
crop began to grow and produce grain,
the weeds also grew.

27 “The farmer’s workers went to him and
said, ‘Sir, the field where you planted that
good seed is full of weeds! Where did they
come from?’
28 “‘An enemy has done this!’ the farmer

exclaimed. “‘Should we pull out the

weeds?’ they asked.

29 “‘No,’
he replied, ‘you’ll uproot the wheat
if you do. 30 Let both grow together until
the harvest. Then I will tell the harvesters
to sort out the weeds, tie them into
bundles, and burn them, and to put the
wheat in the barn.’”

Let us give the world HOPE,

Let us tell them about JESUS.
