PERSONAL STATEMENT
Hermenio Tomás
hermeniotomas4@gmail.com
I am writing to express my deep interest in joining the Law program at the University of Chester.
With a rooted passion for learning and a fervent desire to contribute to society, I am eager to
redirect my academic path toward this inspiring and challenging field.
During high school, I immersed myself in the world of healthcare by pursuing a Nursing course. This
experience was fundamental to my understanding of human care and the importance of the well-
being of individuals and communities. Subsequently, I embarked on the Dentistry program at the
university, and while it has been a rewarding journey, I discovered that my heart resides in the realm
of Law.
From a young age, I have been captivated by justice, the analysis of laws, and their impact on social
dynamics. My previous journey in the healthcare field has allowed me to develop crucial skills such
as empathy, effective communication, and problem-solving—aspects I consider essential for a
committed and proficient lawyer.
The University of Chester is renowned for its academic excellence, qualified faculty, and
commitment to the holistic development of students. Its practical and interdisciplinary approach
resonates with my learning style and professional aspirations. The opportunity to integrate into such
a dynamic and diverse academic community is, for me, not just a privilege but also a challenge I am
eager to embrace.
In addition to my academic background, I have been actively involved in social initiatives and
community projects, always seeking to contribute to the collective well-being. I believe that
advocacy is a platform for promoting equity, justice, and defending fundamental rights. My goal is to
become an agent of positive change, using the acquired knowledge to serve the community and
society at large.
I am aware that the journey in Law requires dedication, commitment, and continuous learning. I am
fully prepared to face the challenges that arise, always seeking to improve and contribute
significantly to the academic and professional environment.
The University of Chester represents to me not only a higher education institution but a space where
I can realize my potential, broaden my intellectual horizons, and fulfill my passion for Law.
I sincerely appreciate the opportunity for considering my application and look forward to the
possibility of contributing to the academic environment and benefiting from the exceptional
education offered by this renowned institution.
Yours sincerely,
Hermenio Tomás
