MEMO TO: All Employees

FROM: Frank Reynolds, Director

DATE: February 24, 2023

SUBJECT: New Security System

Beginning April 1, we will be using a new security access system. Various security system
options were researched thoroughly before a final decision was made to implement a
fingerprint access system. Complete installation should occur by the end of March, but the
system will not be activated until April 1. The system includes digital surveillance cameras and a
fingerprint access system at all entrances. This will provide a more secure working
environment, especially in the evenings and on weekends. Please carefully read the
specifications below and follow the detailed instructions for using the new system:

FINGERPRINT ACCESS SYSTEM

Description Specifications
Fingerprint memory capacity 78 people
Password capacity 78 people
False Identification rate Less than 0.0001%
Password length 8 bytes
Unlock method Fingerprint or keypad code

FINGERPRINT AND KEYPAD CODES

Once the new system is installed, you simply touch the fingerprint keypad lock with your
index finger for access during nonworking hours. You will also receive a keypad code for
alternate access. Although mechanical keys can be used, they will not be created or distributed.
Human Resources will begin programming fingerprint codes during the week of March 20.
Further instructions will be issued at that time.

ENTRANCE AND EXIT PROCEDURES

Entrances will unlock automatically each day at 8 a.m. and lock automatically at 5 p.m.
To enter, touch the fingerprint keypad lock with your index finger. When the green light comes
on, open the door. Do not hold the door open longer than 30 seconds when you enter or exit,
or the alarm will sound. When you exit the building, do not use the special latch handle to open
the door, or the alarm will sound. Instead, use the push bar. Sign in and sign out at the front
desk each time you enter and exit.
If you have questions about our new security access system and procedures, send an e-
mail message to me at freynolds@infotech.com.
