and Technology portfolios to deliver top-quartile projects and assets as well as
technology as a differentiator and top quartile assets. The merging of engineering
expert under one roof streamlines design and technical standards for projects, and
allows efficient problem solving for smoother operations. In ensuring Procurement
excellence, we leverage digitalisation to enhance value creation by adopting
innovative solution in streamlining procurement activities across the Group.
Research and development efforts are also strategically positioned through
streamlined activities by our in-house researches and engineering experts to ensure
our competitive advantage well into the future.

PD&T is also the custodian for technical data, performing analytics and drawing
insights aimed to improve operational efficiencies and drive business growth. In
technical capability management, PD&T provides a stewardship role in ensuring
technical-competent workforce for PETRONAS.

The integration of these portfolios under PD&T allows PETRONAS to have a better
oversight and control over the end-to-end value chain of these functions.
Consequently, this paves the way for us to create better synergy and collaboration
across the value chain.

ENGINEERING AND OPTIMISATION EXCELLENCE

Our experts provide engineering consultation and deliver solution to steer capital
project delivery, technology deployment, procurement management development, as
well as to enhance asset integrity, reliability and optimization excellence for top-
quartile asset performance. PD&T also provides stewardship on technical standards
and solutions by upholding technical governance.

PROCUREMENT AND CONTRACTING EXCELLENCE

PD&T plays a critical role in driving excellence in our procurement and contracting
activities. The consolidation of all our procurement functions including planning,
governance and services allows us to reap maximum value for the businesses.
Having this single line of sight and control across the organisation enable better
project delivery, procurement activities and commercially savvy solutions.

Employment

With our history spanning five (5) decades, we are proud to be served by a loyal and
dedicated workforce. In an effort to award employees who build their careers with us,
we will organise our annual Long Service Award in August 2017 to recognise
employees who have served the (10), twenty (20), thirty (30) and fourty(40) years
with our Company. This year we will present one hundred fourty one (141)
employees with the Long Service Award.

We also encouraged our employees to go for annual health screenings, especially

for these aged fourty (40) years old and above by allowing them to attend at panel
hospitals for basic screenings at the Company’s expense.

Environmental Compliance

We had conducted environmental compliance audit between December 2016 and

January 2017. As part of regulatory compliance framework, we have sought external
consultants to independently verify our environmental compliance status in our two
plants specifically on facility operations. This to ensure compliance environmental
laws and regulations. The result and corrective actions were reflected in the findings
and proactive actions have been taken accordingly.

basic management philosophy committing to making a significant contribution
through our business operations while improving the lives of our customers. Through
such people-centric philosophy we will be able to continue to provide better living by
improving our customer’s lives using our environmentally -friendly products. This has
been and unchanging commitment to wards our customers over the years.

Energy Consumption

we have always been committed in reducing carbon footprint by reducing our direct
and indirect carbon emissions. This has been portrayed through improvising our
manufacturing processes. We remined committed in sustaining raw materials and
sources without effecting our production volume.

We are pleased to report that our Company has made reduction of two hundred
seventy two (272) tonne for carbon dioxide (CO2), from four hundred ninety five
(495) tonne for the year ended 31 March 2016 to two hundred (256) tonne for the
year ended 31 March 2017.

As a responsible producer and manufacturer we are committed to minimise, as far

as possible our environmental footprint through continuous improvement such as
reducing raw material use and waste while conserving water and minimizing energy.

We are understand that want of the main considerations by our customers is energy
serving and environmental-friendly products. Therefore, we attempt to reduce
environmental impact in our products using energy-efficient designs while making
our products last longer.

Going forward
We are now working to words efficient use of energy, water and effluent discharge
from sewage treatment plant to meet standard limit of regulations by year 2020. We
also aim replace our pollution control facilities in making sure that our pollution
discharges are in compliance with Environment Quality (Clean Air) Regulations 2014
by same year.
