Method Statement for Repair of SWPP 52 Pile

SWPP 52
Descrip on
There is a pile in the seawater intake pump house. The pile number is SWPP 52. In this pile,
spiral reinforcement can be seen. Therefore, we have proposed to remove loose par cles and
use construc on mortar (grout) to fill the gap.
We are reques ng you to approve this method to overcome this error.
Method
Remove loose par cles.
Here we remove loose par cles such as bentonite concrete, mud, and granular materials (sand,
clay, gravel). removal methods,

 Manual removing – using a crowbar or hammer.

 Mechanical excava on – Using an excavator to dig the mud around the piles
 Air or water je ng – Cleaning pile surface using a compressor.

Using excavator, crowbar, and hammer

Fixing the casing
Install a casing with a diameter of 0.6 meters and a height of 1.5 meters around the pile using
either an excavator or a crane. Ensure that the casing is fixed securely in place. The inten on is
to grout 1.3 meters below the cutoff level of the pile.
casing may be used to facilitate the grou ng process. It helps ensure that the grout is placed
uniformly and that the pile sha is properly formed. In this area have a high water table or
where groundwater is present, casing can prevent water.

Casing
Applying construc on grout or mortar.
We prepare the construc on grout mixture as per recommended specifica ons, ensuring
proper propor ons and thorough mixing for desired consistency. U lize an appropriate grout
pump or injec on system to inject the grout from the bo om of the casing, gradually filling the
space between the casing and the pile. Monitor grout flow to ensure uniform distribu on within
the casing's annular space. Regularly check the grout level to confirm it reaches the exact cutoff
level, at least 1.3 meters below, ensuring effec ve and precise grou ng.
