I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, the students are able to:
1. identify the basic quilling shapes and;
2. perform technique in making the basic shapes; and
3. appreciate the importance of paper quilling as an art as source of income.

Subject Integration:
Arts- showcasing their creativity in making quilling designs.
English – medium of instruction
Filipino – used as mother tongue in unlocking of difficulties.
Math- used in review.
Science- inculcating recycling as a means to lessen waste and help save our environment.

II. SUBJECT MATTER:


Topic: Paper Quilling as a Means of Recycling
Subtopic: Basic Shapes (Coils)
Materials: Power point Presentation, Laptop, TV, Videoclip, Paper Quilling Crafts

III. PROCEDURE:
A. Preparatory Activities
1. Routine Activities:
 Greetings, Checking of Attendance, and House Rules
 Listen attentively while the teacher is having a discussion.
 Avoid doing unnecessary things! Please remain focus.
 Maintain respect in both speaking and writing.
 Take down important notes.

2. Review of the Past Lesson: (BREAK THE CODE)


Have a review of the tools and materials in making paper quilling by answering the
mathematical equation.

• Why is it important to know the tools and materials in paper quilling?

3. Motivation: (PICTURE PARADE)


The teacher will show actual sample of paper quilling crafts and then the learners will be
asked with the following questions:

 Can you describe what you see in these crafts?
 How do you think these crafts were made?

4. Unlocking of Difficulties
Coils-(PULUPOT) arranged in a spiral or sequence of rings.
Variation-(PAGKAKAIBA-IBA) a different or distinct form or version of something.

B. Lesson Proper:
1. Show pictures of the 6 basic coils
2. Explain the techniques in making the basic coils.
3. Discuss how paper quilling as a method in recycling paper be a source of income.

C. Closing Activities
1. Generalization (POCKET OF KNOWLEDGE)
Let the students assess their learnings by answering the following questions.
- What are the 6 basic quilling shapes?
- How do you make a good and marketable paper quilling craft?
- How can paper quilling contribute to our economy as a means of livelihood?

2. Valuing ( I-QUILL, I CARE)


Make a hashtag about the impact of paper quilling in our environment. Share your thoughts
about the meaning of hashtag.

3. Application (ALPHA-QUILL)
Group Activity The class will be divided into five groups. Each group will be designing the
designated letter in the alphabet using the basic quilling shapes. After the activity, they will
present it in front of the class.
