Pathan & Associates is the home of some excellent legal minds and proven excellences in the
arena. At present two partners and seven other members with professional and civic
achievement are putting out their best performance for this firm. The lawyers take extra care

1. A. S. M. Sayem Ali Pathan, Advocate, Supreme Court of Bangladesh: Mr. Pathan is

the Managing Partner of this firm and head of chambers. His versatile career as lawyer,
academic and organizer has made him an iconic figure among the young lawyers. His
effective experiences both on litigation and corporate matters provide clients the deserved
success. He was a faculty member of law department of Northern University Bangladesh
(NUB) and now he is teaching law in the Open University of Bangladesh as an adjunct
faculty. He has participated in several national and international moot court competitions.
He was adjudicator in different moot court competitions including Jessup International
Round. He was the Co-coordinator of Human Rights Summer School for three years. He is
the author of three books namely “Case References on Company Law”, “Intellectual
Property Law: Theories, Laws and Case Laws” and “Advocateship: A Problem Based Law
and Drafting”. His several articles have been published in various journals on contemporary
issues. Also, he is an editor of several national and international journals. He achieved his
graduation and master degree from University of Dhaka (DU). He completed Diploma in
Law and LL.B (Hons.) from University of London and then he achieved master degree on
Industrial Relations and Labour Studies from DU.

2. Mr. Purnendu Debnath, Advocate, Bangladesh Supreme Court: Mr. Debnath is an expert on
criminal litigation and consultation. His working experiences on criminal matters of
different Banks and other organizations make him expert on different matter of criminal
litigation. His sincerity and depth of knowledge gives the clients the expected and deserved
relief.

3. Mr. Sarder Abudul Munim, Advocate, Bangladesh Supreme Court: He is an expert on

criminal litigation and consultation. His working experiences on criminal matters of
different Banks and other organizations make him expert on different matter of criminal
litigation. His sincerity and depth of knowledge gives the clients the expected and deserved
relief.

4. Mr. Md. Dulal Mia, Advocate, Bangladesh Supreme Court: Mr. Dulal is an expert on civil
litigation and vetting. His working experiences with different Banks and other
organizations make him expert on different matter of civil litigation and vetting. His
sincerity and depth of knowledge give the clients the expected and deserved relief.

5. Mr. Anirban Choudhury, Advocate, Bangladesh Supreme Court: Mr. Choudhury has
completed his LL .B. and LL .M. from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He is an expert
on civil litigation, corporate matters and banking matters. Being a person of excellent
academic background, he has proved his excellence so far by working in various renowned
organizations like Bangladesh National Human Rights Commission, The Asia Foundation
etc. He has taken part in many legal research activities and has been author of significant
writings on well-known platforms relating important legal issues. He has also been an
expert legal writer and translator and has been serving many names from a long period of
time. Advocate Anirban is a practicing lawyer in Dhaka Judge Court, Sylhet Judge Court
and deals with the clientele from greater Sylhet on behalf of the firm.

6. Mr. Shahidudzzaman Shatu, Advocate: Mr. Shatu has completed his LL.B. (Hons.) from
University of London and LL.M. on Comparative Commercial Law from BPP University
London. He has expertise on international investment law and commercial laws.

7. Mr. Towfiqur Rahman Joy, Advocate: Mr. Towfiq is an expert on corporate criminal
matters and litigation. He has completed his graduation from Northern University
Bangladesh and achieved his LL.M. from the same University.

8. Mr. Syfulla Bahar: Mr. Bahar has completed his graduation from Open University
Bangladesh. He is experienced in Documentation, Client dealing and advising, Company
related matters, and Income tax related matters. He is also the administrative manager of
this firm.

Legal Aid: The ultimate Pro Bono Approach

For the sake of rendering justice to the marginal section of the society, Pathan & Associates runs legal
awareness programmes. By conducting various campaigns, the firm wants to inform the backward
section of the society about their legal rights. The main aim is to make them aware, so that they don’t
need to run through the cumbersome and costly court proceedings. Members from our team have been
the pioneer “Street Lawyers” of this country, which implies a voluntary programme to aware people,
especially school kids, about their legal rights. Pathan & Associates also extend legal assistance to the
poor people in the court room in exchange of a nominal sum.

Research Activities

Apart from professional services, Pathan & Associates has also engaged itself in various theoretical
activities and researches. The firm has been regularly arranging workshops for the fresh law graduates,
