 St. Thomas College of Arts and Science was
ABOUT ST. THOMAS established in 1999 as a Co-educational institution
started with five UG courses which is governed by
the St. Thomas Orthodox Syrian Cathedral Parish
Trust of St. Thomas Orthodox Cathedral, Broadway.
The college is situated in koyambedu which is easily
accessible from all parts of Chennai. This institute
has well qualified and experienced faculty members
who encourage and motivate the students to strive
towards excellent academic achievement,
intellectual development and personal growth.

The Motto of the St Thomas College is “Let there

be Light”. Our emblem symbolizes the divine
foundation, with the Cross signifying Jesus Christ
as our guiding force. The lamp represents education
dispelling darkness, while the computer denotes
scientific progress fuelled by God's wisdom. Our
values encompass academic excellence, equality,
critical thinking, leadership, and spiritual reflection.
With a mission to nurture competent, responsible
individuals, we provide a supportive Christian
environment for academic achievement and
personal growth.

St. Thomas College of Arts and Science is now

celebrating its Silver Jubilee year with 6000
students, 14 UG and 3 PG courses. It is well
equipped with Digital Library, computer labs, CG
labs, video Production Lab, Photography studio,
Multimedia Lab, Editing Lab, Audio Lab which is
constantly maintained and updated for the welfare
of the student and faculty community.
 Thisai (est. 2021) is a non-profitable
and charitable trust (NGO) run by
ABOUT THISAI
students based, in Chennai, Tamil
Nadu. We, at Thisai strive to address
and provide ample awareness for
issues that are prevalent in our society.
We focus mainly on EDUCATION and
HEALTH with priority given to pleas of
unnoticeable downtrodden people in
our society.

We also work to eradicate gender

bias with precedence in women
empowerment. We believe that, to see
what is right and not doing it is a
mistake in itself. We aim at making the
world more inclusive to everyone
without discrimination. So, join with us
to shape a better world to live in where
equality and justice are fairly served.

TRADITIONAL
FOOD EXPO

"Are you a traditional food maker? This

event is your culinary canvas! Unleash
the flavors of heritage with a modern
twist at the Traditional Food Expo."
 DESCRIPTION :
Students should bring traditional food items
cooked from their home and present it. They are
asked to say the ingredients of that food and the
benefits of eating it. Especially the students are
asked to bring traditional food with medicinal
values.It will create awareness among the students

about traditional food and its medicinal values.

RULES & REGULATIONS :

Students must bring a traditional food and
present in the expo.
Students should know about the ingredients
present in it.
The food must have one or more medicinal
values in it (e.g.: Milagu rasam cures cold).
Both Veg and Non-Veg is allowed.
The students must know the way of preparing
the food if viewers ask.
The food should not give side effects or
harmful effects to the consumers.
The preference lies in the fusion of traditional
cuisine with contemporary culture, ensuring
the absence of any adverse effects and
emphasizing the inclusion of medicinal
benefits.
Based on the food, medicinal values and
innovation the prize winners will be decided.
Best 3 winners will be awarded with Prizes.
Judge’s Decision will be final .

ZERO TO IMPACT:

FILMMAKING
CHALLENGE
"Are you looking to make a zero-
budget short film? This event is for you
Turn your creativity into a powerful
narrative on food wastage awareness!"
 DESCRIPTION :
Encourage filmmakers to create impactful
narratives within a zero-budget constraint, using
mobile cameras and normal microphones. Creativity in
storytelling is given Importance.

Topic : "Food Wastage Awareness"

RULES & REGULATIONS :

SHORT FILM
Maximum duration: 10 Minutes.
Filmmakers must adhere to a zero-budget
constraint, utilizing available resources without
additional expenses.
The use of mobile cameras,normal microphones,
normal available editing app . (The incorporation of
watermarks from editing app, if present, is
acceptable without any concerns.) is mandatory
No explicit content or inappropriate language is
allowed.
Judging criteria include creativity, adherence to the
theme of food wastage awareness, and effective
storytelling.
Best 3 Short Films will be screened during the event
(04.03.2024) and will be awarded with prizes.
Judge’s decision will be final.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
The Registration must be done on or before
08/02/2024 .
Once you have registered, you will be added in a
Whatsapp group.
The guidelines for video submission will be clearly
instructed in the Whatsapp group.

"Are you a reels maker? Use your reel

knowledge to create a social impact
and win prizes at ReelRevolt!"
 DESCRIPTION :
Using the power of social media & Reels , Create a
Reel highlighting ongoing social issues under the
theme "Raising Awareness About Unseen Social
Concerns," this event exclusively features a talent
show. Participants can showcase their skills through
diverse art forms, including dance, music, motivational
speeches, or any other artistic expression.

RULES & REGULATIONS :

Reels can be of any content (dance, music, skits,
motivaltional speech, etc.) but must align with the
REELS

theme of creating awareness about unseen social

concerns.
Participants must use their creativity to effectively
communicate the social issue in their reels.
Reels should be original works, and any form of
plagiarism will result in disqualification.
The event is open to individuals or groups
(maximum 5)
Each participant or group can submit only one reel.
Best 3 reels with maximum number of likes will be
screened during the event (04.03.2024) and will be
awarded with prizes.
The number of likes for the Reels will be counted on
(03.03.2024 @ 6 Pm)

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
Last date for registration is 08.02.2024.
After registration ,participants must upload their
reels to their Instagram accounts, collaborating with
@thisai_official account .

"Calling all Foodies! Win Your Way to

Gastronomic Glory and Exciting Prizes
in the Taste Quest Challenge!"
 DESCRIPTION :
Step into a world of sensory exploration with our
thrilling event, the "Taste Quest Challenge." This unique
gastronomic competition is designed to test your taste
buds and culinary intuition. Blindfolded participants will

be presented with a variety of foods, like
samosas,biscuits etc. in a knockout-style game. The
challenge is to correctly identify each item based solely
on taste, touch, and smell. One wrong answer, and you
risk elimination!

RULES & REGULATIONS :

Participants can participate individually or in a team
of two.
Participants will be blindfolded throughout the event,
relying solely on their taste, touch, and smell to
identify the given foods.
The game operates on a knockout basis. Each
participant will face elimination with one incorrect
identification.
A variety of food items, including samosas, biscuits,
and other surprises, will be presented to participants.
The goal is to correctly identify as many items as
possible.
Participants must make their guesses within 30
seconds for each food item. Failure to do so will
result in disqualification.
Each correct identification earns participants points.
The two participants with the highest cumulative
scores at the end of the challenge will be declared
winners.
The top two participants with the highest scores will
receive exciting prizes as a token of their
gastronomic prowess.

tune and identifying the music director or
pinpointing the movie associated with a particular
musical piece.
Teams will earn points based on their performance

comedy.

RULES & REGULATIONS :

Performers are encouraged to create content
that combines humor with insightful
commentary on social issues.
No offensive, discriminatory, or derogatory
content is allowed. Comedy should promote
inclusivity and respect.
Each performer must adhere to a time limit of 5
minutes during their routine.
The judging criteria will include humor,
originality, and the effective communication of
social issues.
The decision of the judges is final, and no
appeals will be considered.
Best 2 performance will be awarded with prizes.

PERFORMANCE GUIDELINES:
Performers are expected to avoid using double-
meaning jokes or content that may be perceived
as inappropriate.
Comedy routines should focus on highlighting
social issues in a positive and constructive
manner.
