Model

The model number of the fan unit for the AN6000-17 subrack is 405000320.

Appearance

Working Principle

u Located at the top of the subrack, the fan unit facilitates air cooling in the
subrack by drawing air. A flow of cooling air is drawn into the subrack from its
bottom. After passing through each working card in the subrack, the air is
exhausted from the top of the subrack.

Version: B 7
AN6000 Series Optical Line Terminal Equipment Hardware Description

u The fan unit is configured with a fan monitoring board, which can detect the
working status of fans. The monitoring board provides interfaces for
communication with the core switch card of the equipment, and sends the
monitoring information to the core switch card regularly.

u The fan unit provides seven speed levels (1 to 7, from the lowest to the highest).
The fan speed can be regulated in manual mode or intelligent mode.

4 In manual mode, the fan unit operates at the speed set on the EMS.

4 In intelligent mode, the core switch card of the equipment automatically

selects a speed for the fan unit according to the card temperature detected,
and the fan unit operates at the selected speed.

5.2 Card Overview

Cards can be categorized as follows according to their functions:

u A core switch card aggregates, switches and controls traffic flow, processes
Layer 2 protocols, and manages faults, performance and configurations of the
equipment.

u An uplink card provides uplink ports for connection to upper-layer devices.

u A power card leads in DC power for the equipment.

u An Ethernet interface card enables Ethernet private line access and can serve
as an uplink card as well.

u A common interface card provides the out-of-band management network port,

alarm interface, dry contact interface and external clock interface.

u A service card provides service ports, and works together with ONUs to enable
integrated service access.

The table below describes the names, numbers, power consumptions, maximum

5 Cards

The normal working temperature for cards ranges from -40℃ to 65℃. The overall
power consumption is measured under the following conditions:

u Working voltage: -53.5 V DC

u Room temperature: 25℃ (static power consumption and typical power

consumption) or 55℃ (maximum power consumption)

u Static power consumption: All the broadband ports are deactivated.

u Typical power consumption: 50% of the broadband ports are concurrently

activated.

u Maximum power consumption: 100% of the broadband ports are concurrently

activated.

Note:

u The actual power consumption of these cards may deviate a little

from the values mentioned above due to different power modules
used and component discreteness.

u Generally for access equipment, power consumption is converted

into heat output. The unit of the former is W, and that of the later is
BTU/h. The two units are converted based on the formula 1 W =
3.412 BTU/h.

Functions

u Provides 24 Ethernet ports, which can be configured as 10GE or 1GE ports.

u In uplink mode, the PXNA card can serve as an uplink card. Each uplink port
can act as a network management port for connection to a network
management computer.

u In downlink mode, the PXNA card can serve as a P2P card to receive
subscriber services.

u In downlink mode, each port can serve as a cascade port, allowing several
devices to be cascaded to an IP network via a single IP port.

Working Principle

6.1 Mappings Between Modules and Cards

Being hot-swappable, the optical / electrical modules are applied to an optical

communication system to enable optical / electrical conversion of signals.

The AN6000 Series support encapsulation formats including SFP+, XFP, SFP and
QSFP28 for pluggable modules.

Caution:
Avoid exposure of the modules to strong light, which may cause damage
to them. The Rx optical power of the equipment shall not exceed the
overload optical power of the optical modules.

Interface types of the modules include LC, SC and RJ-45 (electrical module).
Figure 6-1 shows what these modules look like.

cabinet bottom and cabinet doors regularly. It is advised to clean them
with water or a vacuum cleaner once every six months. Dust screens in
service for over three years have degraded performance in flame
retardation; please replace them in a timely manner.

control four channels of -48 V power supplies in area B. FAIL1 indicates the
lightning protection failure alarm for the power supply XS15, and FAIL2 indicates
that for the power supply XS16.

JP1 is the jumper pin for selecting the working status

indicator LED of the PDP. It can be set in either of the
following two ways:
u When pin1 and pin2 of JP1 are shorted, the green
JP1 indicator at the cabinet top indicates the power status of
the PDP.
u When pin2 and pin3 of JP1 are shorted (factory default),
the green indicator at the cabinet top is controlled by the
CALL (order wire call) signal.
